“Very pleasant stay.”

This is an attractive hotel in a good location with views over the river and a salt grotto. Manfred has owned the hotel for 35 years and has kept it up to a very high standard. He also operates a 24 hour reception which suited me well. Sadly I had to leave before breakfast.

Everyone who helped us at the hotel was very friendly, and we felt very comfortable. Our room was wonderful and the view from our window was lovely, and the breakfasts were fantastic. The jaccuzi and sauna were a delight at the end of a long day. We also had dinner one evening at the hotel, which was also good. The location is also perfect! A very short walk to the train, and one day we even began our hike from the hotel. Overall, we had a fantastic time and will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

Very nice old hotel in the perfect location. I was not sure where to stay between Pirna or Bad Schandau so this is the perfect location in between the two. Nice view of the river and the fortress. Free car park on site. Nice breakfast. We did not eat dinner here, drinks outside on the terrace were great. We took the salt spa which was not water but very relaxing.

The staff. Excellent, as always. This wasn't my first time at this hotel. Nor the last one. But the first time when I arrived during a huge thunderstorm without electricity etc. No problem for the people at the desk at all. Creative, fun way how to solve the problem. I loved the stay here again. And the superb breakfast, too, of course. Looking forward to stop there next time.

Great breakfast in a beautiful airy room with a view. Staff was friendly and rooms were nice. Very nice location for the train station and going up to Konigstein either on foot or my car for the day.

Good hotel! Large rooms with great views. Good restaurant with view terrace. Good breakfast. Good service who speak English (both reception and in restaurant). Parking 3 eur /day. Good location if you came by car to visit a national park and area and don't plan to walk too much around the hotel itself.

“Comfortable stay and would definitely stay again”

We were a couple with one kid staying for 4 nights. The property is close to the train station and is very easy to get to Bad Schandau and take the tram/bus into the park. Large rooms with very comfy beds and a great view of Elbe! Breakfast was very good and view from the dining area was great as well. The Salzgrotto is a nice experience!

Lovely traditional hotel. Very friendly and professional staff team. Good restaurant with reasonable prices. Tables in the beautiful 'pavillon' have wonderful views of Elbe valley.

Very clean and well run hotel. Spent 4 days here and it was a great base for walking the lovely countryside. Didn't need to use the car at all.

“Good rest option.”

Friendly personnel and good food. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner. Quiet room with a bathtub gives a good opportunity for rest after a long walk. Goods of Himalayan salt are available for purchase.

Very good breakfast, parking o.k., city is run down, many shops closed, old houses looking terrible“ deserted“. Nice walking close by, Festung Königstein and Bastei!
