“The most hospitable stay I’ve had in Japan. Staff were kind and professional.”
Location was pretty. Room and onsen were clean as was expected. Staff went to extra effort to be hospitable. Would recommend for older people (don’t order a traditional room if you don’t want to sleep on futons) although there was a slight language barrier if you don’t speak Japanese. Also recommend to climbers who don’t want to stay at a hostel or in van. The onsen was very hot but open air so you could sit out of it. Breakfast was healthy with interesting flavours.

“Old fashioned hotel in the nicest possible way. Food not to be missed.”
Quite a difficult hotel to describe. It is on multiple levels and somewhat labyrinthine but it has a charm of its own and the staff were cheery, very friendly and helpful. They even organised an early station shuttle for us on the morning of our departure. The food was amazing and so beautifully presented. Close to the Gozaisho Ropeway which should not be missed

“A nice hotel in the perfect location”
The staff were phenomenal. The location was absolutely stunning. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the all inclusive option was great. The set dinner and breakfast were delicious and a really unique, authentic Japanese experience.
