We had a lovely stay in the perfect location, there was food available within the accomandation with a set menu but you could also avail of restaurants at Shala River

“Fantastic experience”

The most beautiful place we have ever visited, it takes time to get there but totally worth it. The scenery is amazing and the hotel is nestled perfectly in the mountains. The food is a simple menu but everything is fresh and delicious. You can share the dishes with another person so it's very good value for money. They also provide complimentary extras like bread and baklava in the evenings. The breakfast is tasty too and good mix of things. There is even WiFi! There is a free shuttle to Lumi i Shales twice per day which is a great addition to the trip as well as kayaking.

Literally everything. The rooms are basic but we didn’t need anything more- the beds are comfty. The menu is limited but again, everything they do they do very well. The staff were so friendly and make the best coffee!! And best of all is the scenery. Would stay there again in a heartbeat

The location is absolutely stunning, surrounded by breathtaking views of Komani Lake. The peaceful atmosphere, friendly host, and well-organized boat transfer made the whole experience smooth and memorable. The food was fresh and delicious, and the overall vibe was perfect for relaxing.

“Beautiful nature & accommodating stay”

Amazing views and location. Perfect stay for a couple of nights with plenty of options for food & drink at an extra cost. This had a manmade beach area to swim which was an extra bonus we weren’t aware of! The staff were so accommodating and this place has an authentic friendly family feel. We were helped to learn fishing (free of charge) which we really enjoyed (credit to Mateo). We went kayaking to explore the beautiful lake further. The boat takes you to shala river for free which is a perfect morning or full day trip. There is also a hike trial so plenty to do to keep yourselves entertained. With lots of space to relax too. 10/10 stay we enjoyed everything and wish we could stay longer!

Riverside is a wonderful place to stay on Lake Komani. Mark and the team are helpful and professional. The guesthouse is quiet and peaceful with excellent views. The team had helpful recommendations, suggesting a hike to do from Shala river. We appreciated the free boat rides to Shala river to enable us to explore and do the hike. Compared to the guesthouses at Shala river, Riverside is affordable, calm and relaxing. The food and drinks were affordable and cooked well. The room was clean and comfortable and again, very quiet. We loved the balcony area and the pontoon with sun lounges. Mark was helpful in sorting transfers from Shkodër and he was always available on WhatsApp. I would 100% stay again, especially as it is one of the more affordable stays in that part of the lake.

Amazing staff!!!⭐️ very good and fast Whatsapp communication. The staff is very flexible and always willing to help. The accommodation is beautiful, I would 100% recommend the deluxe room. They also offer a boat trip (10 min) to the Shala River. The suspension brige and pantoon are definite highlights. There is a little bus picking you up at Blini parking and brings you back. Very good organisation. It was lovely!

Everything about this place is heaven. Super chill, calm and relaxing, away from the busy city. Highly recommend if you just want to unwind and forget your problems for a while.

“The most beautiful location in Albania!”

I've booked multiple accommodations for my two-week Albania trip, but this one was by far the most stunning! Riverside Komani Lake is a very nice guesthouse with, by far, the most beautiful views possible. There are nice (vegetarian) options available, and the food was great. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the ferry trip alone was worth it (we took an early ride in the morning - there was nobody on the lake!). Absolutely recommended.

It’s truly one of the most breathtaking places we stayed at during our trip to Albania. The main highlight of this property is undoubtedly the location and the stunning views of Komani Lake surrounded by mountains. Waking up here feels surreal and peaceful. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained. The hosts were also wonderful throughout our stay. Very friendly, helpful and always reachable whenever we had questions. Communication before arrival was excellent and all the additional transport costs were clearly explained upfront immediately after booking which we really appreciated. It’s important to know that you cannot reach the hotel directly by car. Guests need to park at a designated parking area recommended by the host (€5 per day), after which a car transfer takes you to the port. From there a boat transfers you to the hotel which costs €25 per person and includes both onward and return boat trips as well as a day trip to the beautiful Shala River. The only downside, in our opinion, was the limited food menu. We completely understand that this is a very remote location and expectations should be realistic but after a couple of days the lunch and dinner options started to feel repetitive. If you eat during the Shala River trip there are a few extra choices available though the menu remains fairly similar overall. We would highly recommend staying here for the incredible scenery, peaceful atmosphere and unique experience. However, unless you are specifically looking to relax and disconnect completely 1–2 nights is probably ideal. For longer stays we personally preferred spending more time in Theth.

Wow!! Wow!!! Wow!!! That's all I can say!!! Just incredible!!! The view, the location, the staff the food, the value for money!!! Even just a boat ride to it was like a dream... Honestly, that place broke my brain...Unbelievable!!

Staff were really helpful in booking bus travel from Shkodër to Komani and the boat from Komani to Riverside. This all went smoothly and we were able to just trust the process. We had hired a car, but the road to Komani had not yet been paved, so getting a bus was a lot more stress free, from a drivers point of view! The food was simple and fresh, and absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and helpful and relaxed, staff gave you space but were available if needed. The atmosphere felt calm and relaxed. The room was simple but comfortable, but we only used it to sleep in since we spent all our time enjoying the stunning location, which really was breathtaking. Highly recommend for the helpful service, simple but good quality food and facilities and incredible views
