Location is great, close to everything at Koli. Our cottage had two bedrooms and the loft area - a lot of space! It's great to have the bed linen and towels included in the price.

Interior facilities and environment

This is our third time in Koli. We love it! Our Airbnb accommodation got cancelled on the day we had to travel and we booked Lotus Cottages last minute! We were so lucky! The location is perfect 5 min drive from the ski slopes, nearest restaurant and shop but situated right next to the lake giving us the experience we were looking for. The staff is amazing. They made sure we had everything including bringing us wood to make sure we were warm enough! We rented two cottages next to each other as we were a large group. The cottages were very clean and had everything you need, two bedrooms, sauna, fire place and most importantly the beauty of the quietness that you can experience in Koli. the kids loved it, played outside, we did barbecue for a couple of nights as the weather was not too cold and there are fire huts that the guest can use. Simply fantastic!

The Host. He was waiting for us, even though this was not needed. He was very helpful in explaining how to us the facilities such as the sauna, the woodstove, etc. He gave tips for hiking. A friendly man who knows how to make you feel welcome! There is lots of wood available to enjoy the fire place. You can start hiking from the house into Koli national parc. The view from the house was splendid. The house is complete with washing and drying machine, oven, microwave, good beds, kitchen equipment.

In my 35 years of travel history, never have I ever come across such a super, fantastic and humane host - extremely helpful, always available, going out of his way to ensure the guests’ comfort, extremely informative (better than google and chat gpt) AND refuses to accept any gift or reward (monetary or anything)! Tino - you are the BEST! Thank you for the magical island boat ride - it was paradise!!! And if it were not for you, I would have totally missed seeing Koli’s best aerial view - Räsävaara Observation Tower!!! The best sunset and island views ever !!! Kolin Lotus Cottages are located in a very nice place, on the shore of Pielinen lake. Apart of water sports (SUP-s, motor boat, rawing boat) one can rent bikes and also hike in Koli National Park. Cottage was comfortable, with partly view on the lake.A great advantage was that bed linen, towels and final cleaning were included in the price. Actually, it was the best time we spent there during our stay in Finland. It was also due to the attitude of the host and his family, who was very helpful and caring toward the guests, what we personally experienced.

Absolutely stunning place on the shore of Pielinen lake! You can have everything in this place: swimming, taking (motor) boat or SUP, relaxing in hot tub or sauna. Famous hiking trails in Koli national park are just 10 min drive from there. The house had everything you need for the perfect stay. Also, a supermarket is located closeby in 5 min drive in Koli village. We would like also to mention and thank Tino and his wife a lot for the great hospitality and attentiveness to all clients needs! We would like to return to this place again!

“Super”

This place is absolutely beautiful. The cottage has everything what is needed and is super clean. The owners are very nice people and always reachable if you have a question or need anything. The lake next to the cottage is perfect for swimming, SUP, fishing or simply enjoying the scenery.

“A perfect haven in the midst of nature”

I am rarely as happy about a place as I was with the Kolin Lotus Cottages. The cottage which was attributed to us is right in front of a lake surrounded by trees. The furnishings were perfectly kept and well chosen. The cottage offers everything you need including a working chimney and a sauna. Everything works and when called about a detail a very kind gentleman came to help literally within seconds. The absolute peace and quiet of the place is astounding.
