Brilliant and unique stay in a Katun in Komovi. You really are made to feel at home with Violetta and she looks after you during your stay. The setting on the side of the mountain is completely unique and brilliant for hiking and enjoying nature. The stay was great value and so much fun.

“Cozy, comfortable, exceptional”

Hosts were amazing! We did not speak same language but the host make it possible with translation app and not only provided dinner and breakfast for just the two of us, but also hot shower and very comfortable and cozy bungalow. She suggested a route for a short hike in the mountains and also a better route than gps showed to our other destination. Dunda was also exceptional 🐱 The road to get there requires some off road skills, thought. But its absolutely worth it!

Location and hospitality

The location is truly magical. Room was basic, showers are basic but the location and warmth of the owners beats all of that, and to experience life on top of the mountains was a treat for our children. Tasty food and generous portions, large selection of delicious home made juices. Several hiking trails just outside the property.

Amazing location nestled between the mountains. Ideal place to start hiking and explore the Komovi mountain region. We would recommend staying at least 2 nights to have the best opportunity to go hiking and enjoy the spectacular views. The only option for food is the cooking of Violeta, as there are no shops or restaurants in the vicinity, but there is plenty of choice and we liked everything we tried.

“Fantastic Stay in the Mountains”

Eko Katun Martinovica is located in a stunning location - grand views all around! The hosts are great. They're hospitable and take good care of you, whether it's suggesting hikes, serving you massive portions of delicious food, or chatting with you about the area. The cabin was clean and the bed was comfortable with blankets thick enough to keep you warm, even when you sleep with the window open. The facilities are clustered together and sound does travel, so you feel more like you're part of a community than isolated in the mountains. There are several great walks that start from the Katun and the scenery really can't be beat. I wish I'd been able to stay longer. The road is not one I was comfortable driving. I reached out about getting a ride but was told it's a macadam road and I should be fine. I did give it a shot, but I'm a skittish driver and then encountered a local on the road and he said he wouldn't recommend driving the road in my car, so I turned around, parked on the road, and walked up. It's a fine walk (I think it took about an hour). If you're also a skittish driver and don't want to walk, you might see about a ride. But however you get there, I really recommend going! The kind hosts and stunning nature are definitely worth it!

It is a remote location but with exceptional views and nature. An excellent location to fully disconnect and to focus on enjoying the beauty of the hijes in the national park.

“A stunning retreat far from the main city”

A stunning retreat far from the main city up north offers an authentic view of the Komovi mountains. It's likely the closest you can get for an overnight stay. The hosts are wonderful and hospitable. Landlady Violetta is exceptionally kind and made us feel at home. The landlord entertains guests with local music on instruments. The veal at the restaurant is outstanding. Although the food prices are high, they are well worth it. We spent 200 in total, covering accommodation, food, and some drink souvenirs. Things to consider: * No WiFi * Limited electricity (only from 7 to 11 pm) * Cash payments only

Amazing location! The staff was also really kind and helpful and made us feel at home. We would definitely go there again!!

The host was super nice, always trying to help and made us feel at home! The location is perfect to disconnect. The sights are insane and if you're looking for peace and quiet, then this is your place. There are hikes that you can do with amazing views, literally at the back of the accommodation. The food is very good. We had all our meals there, most main dishes are between 8 and 10 euros per person. The most expensive is 25 euros, but those dishes are for 2 people. Also, the portions are very big. We read a lot of reviews about the road getting there. We had a 20 year old Subaru estate and had absolute no problems in getting there. Yes, you need to be careful because it's an offroad but in no way was this an issue. It takes between 30/40 minutes for that last part. Please don't make that road stop you from going there! You should know that there is electricity for four hours a day in the rooms, but thats plenty of time to charge everything you need.

“Wonderful hosts”

The road to Komovi Katun Martinovića 1750 isn’t great, but it’s ok if you take it slowly. Once you’re there, you’re rewarded with a superb mountain setting, comfortable accommodation and really lovely hosts. They made us feel relaxed and at home, even with a language barrier. The restaurant/kitchen is the hub, and it was such a cosy place to relax and unwind in. The food was superb - some people make the drive just to eat here. There’s a couple of hot water showers, power is on from 7-11pm to charge devices and, although there’s no WiFi, you can connect to the host’s if you need to get online.

Great place to spend time in mountains close to nature! The hosts are wonderful. The food was delicious and the cottages are charming. It is possible to go to the mountains directly from the Katun. We want to come back!
