The staff were very friendly and understanding, especially the one who saw me parking my motorbike and directed me to a little equipment shelter so that I could keep the bike dry overnight. The apartment was very spacious for 1, and it was a short trip into the nearby village for dinner. The outdoor onsen was lovely and the bed extremely comfy.

the surroundings were extremely beautiful, we loved the river right next to the property as well as the stunning mountain views. the staff were incredibly friendly, the onsen is beautiful and you can even book a family onsen free of charge. the rooms were huge!

We arrived late at the hotel for check in and the staff was kindly waiting for us and patiently explained everything…. We don’t speak much Japanese but it wasn’t much trouble, they have a very good translation device. The villa was big and spacious, just a bit cold in the bathroom area as there are no heating there…and we were there in winter so it was quite cold. Also the night sky is amazing…full of stars!! You can also spot deers and wild boars around… just beautiful! Everyone was so kind to us, we really felt the welcome very much! The breakfast was amazing… a lots of different dishes to choose from! Japanese breakfast with coffee, tea and apple/berry vinegar ! We stayed for 5 days and we enjoyed the breakfast very much! The dinner was prepared at the villa we stayed in everyday…apart from burger and steak which we needed to be back by 18:30 for the food delivery. All the dinner was prepared carefully by the staff and they were very tasty, we tried all the different dinner choices and they were all pretty good. We didn’t get the chance to use the outdoor onsen, it looks amazing as it’s surrounded by trees and nature. We had our own onsen in the villa which we enjoyed it! The water was very hot though, need to be a bit careful about getting into it too quickly. Thank you so much for our lovely stay! We really enjoyed it very much!

The breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed that there were a lot of vegetable dishes. The outdoor onsen was truly magical, it felt like taking a bath in the woods

We loved everything about this place. Scenic, very generous breakfast and dinner. Roomy for a family of four. The onsen was stunning and an absolute highlight.

“Best place to stay and relax after Kuju Mountains Trekking”

This place is heaven after our trekking on Kuju Mountains. - All staff is very nice, kind and warm-welcomed. Reception staff has translator making our check in process quick and easier to understand all stuff at the hotel. They also provide us a free service to store our laptops as we did the overnight trek and didnt want to leave them in the car. - Clean and spacious room. - Good vibes and good view. - They have outdoor, indoor and even family room onsen. All are very nice and the outdoor onsen is super amazing - We love it so much. - In-room dinner and breakfast is perfect.

Amazing site, spacious rooms, marvellous outdoor onsen and gorgeous breakfast (mostly Japanese, varied and fresh, with some ‘French’ pastry just in case)❤️❤️ A balcony with a view over the volcanic mountains, icing on the cake ❤️

“An affordable stay in Aso San area”

With the limited accommodation available in the area it was Ok. Lots of space compared to other rooms in Japan. No where to eat in the area. The kitchenette might have been useful if it had any utensils?!. Just 4 cups & a kettle. The western beds are very hard. Handy tip.. pop the Japanese mat on to bed under the sheet for a very comfy bed. The breakfast was traditional Japanese and plentiful. Good coffee.

“Ok onsen but pictures need to be updated when the season is low”

We booked the place because we saw pictures of lively fun environment around the barbecue. When we arrived we were told the barbecue is closed and the only available food or restaurants were 15 minutes away by car. If the season is low they should make sure that the pictures reflect the current situation and not mislead the travelers. One of the evenings they did not consider bringing food for our kid and as mentioned there was no food option around especially in the evenings. The onsen was nice, the room was spacious.

The breakfast buffet was one of the best I've had in Japan. The choices of beef and curry, and rice and miso, were delicious and hearty! Staff were great. Onsen was superb! Room was comfortable. Small shop at reception and vending machine onsite.

Although the apartment was a bit outdated, it had everything we needed and was very spacious. We had a balcony with view on the mountains and free access to the onsen! Also, we highly recommend the breakfast they provide. It was a buffet with many delicious options. Each dish was freshly made and it was one of the best Japense breakfast we had during our trip. There is no convenience story nearby so make sure you bring enough food and drinks for dinner.

Perfect place to stay for hiking at Kuju. OITA Waygu Beef Sirloin Steak Dinner Set was one of the best steaks I have ever had! The staff are very nice and kind too. I would love to come back here.
