We felt very welcomed from the moment we arrived. The resort has a cosy restaurant right by the sea with delicious food and very friendly staff. One of the highlights for us was the pool by the sea — we especially enjoyed swimming at sunset. The pool is surrounded by green plants and trees, and the many lights in the evening create an extra cosy and magical atmosphere. The host, Torsten, is extremely nice and helpful, always making sure all guests feel comfortable and taken care of. The houses are surrounded by a beautiful garden, which adds to the peaceful feeling of the place. We stayed in a wooden house, which was charming, though at times a bit challenging with two small kids. Overall, Starbay Samui would definitely be our choice again when visiting Koh Samui.

The property was very big, comfortable and stylish in a fabulous quiet location, and only a 10min walk into the bustling centre of Lamai.

A beautiful, small resort set in a well-maintained tropical garden that provides a pleasant climate. We stayed in the largest house, number 21, which was perfectly equipped, featuring two floors, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and a spacious kitchen with all amenities, including air conditioning and ceiling fans. There was also a large terrace. The resort has a small pool and a restaurant. Shops, massage places, restaurants, and a night market are all within walking distance. Torsten is an incredibly kind person who gave us plenty of helpful tips and recommendations during the welcome—both about the accommodation and nearby services.

The owner Torsten is a chill guy. He gave me some useful advice. The accommodation is in a beautiful botanical garden right by the beach.

Good quite family place. The man that runs it. Is good as gold.will help if needed.

Nice welcome from host with all information needed for our stay as well as activities/places around. Location is one of nicest in Lamai hidden from all the buzz, but still within its walking distance.

“Wonderful, peaceful place to stay right on the beach where you are woken up by birdsong outside the window in the mornin”

The location was superb. It was on a quiet stretch of beach that the owner keeps clean. We were really disappointed by how much litter was on the main Lamai beach but the stretch by Starbay was beautiful. The sea is shallow here and the strip of sand narrow but it was perfect for a family. We hired Paddle Boards for the day which were delivered to Starbay too. The resort is quiet so this is really a place to come to get away from it all. The food is delicious although the restaurant opening times are limited and it’s more expensive than some of the places in town. Drinking water is provided. They are environmentally conscious and try to recycle. You are charged separately for electricity use (less than 1000 baht for a week for us) which we liked as can see how it stops people just leaving the air con on unnecessarily. Torston the owner is so helpful and informative. Nothing was too much trouble.

I liked the fact that our host Torsten a wonderful gentleman explained every aspect about the resort to us and where we could go for food, and drinks etc.The garden,pool and beach was amazing as well. The beach at Crystal Bay vwas amazing and just a short walk away + - 5min. Torsten organized our transportation to Krabi via a tour company which was exeptional and easy and the price was good as well. We really enjoyed our stay at Starbay resort and enjoyed Koh Samui as well.Hope to return one day..

Torsten was an amazing host, giving us recommendations of where to visit and making us feel at home as soon as we got to the resort. The pool is incredible, nice and deep and the perfect temperature to cool off in the heat and the food at the bar was great too. The staff, the little Jack Russell dogs and Torsten made it feel like a really family friendly place, it was great!

We rented a 2 br bungalow which had set up for kitchen. Staff were friendly and responsive. Pool was nice and overlooked the beach. It was between Lamai and Chewang and a short walk to Silver/Crystal beach which is worth a visit. There is also a fantastic bakery nearby recommended by the owner which we used to stock the kitchen with baguettes and croissants for breakfast. There were no shops to be in so we spent our time by the pool and the ocean although you needed the tide to be high to get fully wet.

Lovely location and delightful gardens. Cafe very good with nice staff. The resort manager was helpful and attentive.

“Relaxing stay in quiet family friendly resort”

Beautiful setting with a lovey pool and bar by the beach. Thorsten was a really helpful and engaging host and we were grateful to find out he had upgraded us when we arrived. The lodge was huge and well equipped. Location is a short walk from the main part of Lamai but there are good food options nearby and you can easily walk or cheap taxi into town or the main the of the beach
