“Very basic stay right at the beach”

The family running the place is very nice and their food at the restaurant was very good. It is located right at the beach so you go out of the door and can sit right in front of the sea having a coconut or a smoothie. It is all very basic. I had the single room with my own bath and a big bed with mosquito net and a fan. Everything was clean and I could sleep well. I had nice chats with Kim who is in charge for this place.

“Awesome place right next to the sea”

Absolutely amazing location. Best view from a balcony I've had so far on my trip. Step out the door to the hostel and you're about a 5 second walk to the sea. They've got nice seating and sun loungers for customers so you can relax and look out to sea. The place also does really amazing food and cocktails too. Both are very reasonably priced. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.

“Perfect location.”

Location was perfect. The fan was powerful. Kim, the owner was lovely.

Every room is without window. Very thin walls, no proper ceiling just some cardboard on the top so you can hear every thing from the all rooms on the floor. No privacy at all. Just one shower and 2 toilets for all (8/10) rooms. Mouse or rat running through room

“Just a little gem.”

I was supposed to stay for 2 days and end up staying for a week. The food is the best on this part of the island. I was a solo traveler but I had dinner there many times with people I met throughout the day and all of them were amazed about the food. The lady of the house( Kim) is just a gem. Not only did she cook with her heart but take the time to talk to you and I felt so privileged to share her story. Please take to time to talk with her. I felt home there and it was heartbreaking when I had to leave. Just one of this special place that I found when travelling. I never do any write up on any website but this one is special. “The absolute BEST place & people ever”

Do yourself a favour and COME STAY HERE! You can choose between a private room with private bathroom or a private room with shared bathroom. Rooms are very spacious and facilities are clean. The mattresses are incredibly comfortable. The family owning this place will make you feel at home anytime. It is heartwarming to be around them and you will start caring very early on. The building is right on the beach, so you literally have the sea at your doorstep. There is free drinking water and free coffee. There is also the possibility to do laundry for 1$ per kilo. The food they make is simply spectacular and portions are very abundant. We came to stay a couple of days and we’re extending to stay weeks!

“Amazing family run guesthouse”

This is an outstanding little guesthouse directly in front of the beach, you live in a family environment and KIM cooks excellent Cambodian food. She is the most helpful and nice person you can imagine. In the evening they are serving nice beach cocktail varieties for really good prices or draft beers. And as a surprise In the evening they prepare fish bbq. In the morning you have this incredibly beautiful sea in front of your eyes with another island in front. You only need to go down to the beach have a great swim and then lay down on one of their beach chairs and have a fresh coconut water.

“Affordable, comfy, clean, welcoming stay with a great location”

This cute little guesthouse is in an awesome location right on the beach. It's Khmer family owned and feels it. Very welcoming. Don't expect the ritz, but the private rooms are simple, clean, the beds comfy, there is a fan above the bed. All you could want for a cheap but comfy island stay. And they make great food

It’s basic but you get what you pay for , an amazing hard working owner looking after the whole place right on the beach front

We stayed 4 nights in the guesthouse and we enjoyed this place so much. It is a hidden germ and we were positively surprised to find such a nice and beautiful place. The rooms are really good for the low price. The shared bathroom is clean an you can use soap and shampoo there. There is always a wonderful sea view from the guesthouse and you get daily breakfast from the nice host. The family who lives there is so kind an nice. We felt very welcomed and it is very local and less touristic place. We did also a plankton tour for bioluminescence and we had wonderful food freshly cooked everyday. It is a great place for backpakers and more adventure travellers. But you can also find party there if you like. There is long beach just 5 minutes walking from there.

This hostel was the dream of Kim, the owner, who has been running the hostel since last December. She lives there with her youngest son and her husband. If your trip is based on staying in hostels with great comforts, this is not the place for you, as the type of construction of the walls lets in the light and noise from the adjoining rooms, nothing that can't be fixed if all the hosts behave and respect each other to have a quiet stay. Even so, the rooms are large, with comfortable beds and pillows, fan and mosquito net, everything you need for a pleasant stay. The location couldn't be better, you walk out the door and your feet touch the sand, you walk a few meters and you are in the water. Moreover, every day in the morning Kim gives you free pancakes for breakfast, which are included in the price, you can't ask for more! It's also important to know that she speaks good English, but she can't read or write, that's why sometimes it can be difficult to communicate through Booking or other websites... Be understanding. If you are thinking of staying here, think that you are helping a local family to move forward. Furthermore, I promise you that the kindness, generosity and dedication of Kim will make you very happy to have arrived there. Also, its a good place to do a volunteering if you like. Please note that only two ferry companies go to M'pay Bay: G.T.V.C boat and Buva Sea!

“Relaxing stay on the beach”

The guesthouse is located right on the beach, with a gorgeous view. The rooms are fan only, but the fan was quite strong, so that wasn’t a problem at all. The owners are super nice and we loved the free breakfast! Make sure to try the pancakes, they are the best ⭐️ You can also get free snorkeling masks and rent kayaks for a super cheap price.
