“10/10 stay at Dahlia guesthouse”

We have only good things to say about our stay at Dahlia guesthouse. Ellen was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The room was very nice and clean, on a very beautiful part of the island. We had a great time getting to know Ellen and her volunteer Del, in and out of the guesthouse! The location is only a short walk to the beach and the local restaurants. We had an amazing time both at Dahlia and on the island itself. Thanks so much, Ellen!

Great location and lovely welcoming staff, guesthouse was clean and tidy, and a short walk away from all of the local bars, restaurants and shops in M’Pai bay.

Lovely clean comfortable guest house with friendly host and staff.A few minutes walk to the beach/village which made it a quiet and peaceful place to stay.

“Perfect place to stay!”

Amazing place to stay on the island, 5 minute walk from the beach and the host Ellen is super nice and very welcoming. The room was clean, bed was comfy and there is a really nice balcony area to relax in too. While staying we went to see the bioluminescent algae/plankton every evening at the beach which was great fun and borrowed the snorkelling goggles which great. Also a frisbee & badminton set available to borrow too! Overall a brilliant place to stay and I highly recommend.

Ellen was so welcoming and helpful- from giving her top choices of places to eat to keeping Aloe Vera gel in the fridge, ready in case of sunburn ( needed) . Lovely toiletries in the shower room, chilled water, snorkel masks, all making a very relaxing place .

We loved our stay at Dahlia Guesthouse! First and foremost the lady running the house, Ellen, is super welcoming and friendly and we had many nice chats with her :) The entire house, the common areas as well as the rooms are nicely decorated with lots of attention to details. It's clean and tidy, you can use the kitchen and relax in the various hammocks and bean bags on the porch, inside or on the terrace. Fron there you also have an amazing view and can watch the sunrise! The guesthouse is located a little up the hill, only a 5 minute walk up a dirt street, away from the village "center". There are a bunch of small restaurants nearby so no need to worry about finding good food here :) If you are looking for a relaxing chill time, stay here.

Ellen is a super host!

We were able to use Ellens kitchen to prepare our breakfast. There was picnic mats, freezer lunchbags & frisbees to take down to the beach if we wanted. We also had a fridge outside our room to store drink or fridge items. There was hammocks we could use to relax in. There was also a nice veranda to sit out on.

“Stay here!”

An amazing property with super clean and lovely rooms. Lots of communal areas to chill out in and the location is perfect. Ellen is really friendly and helpful too. Would highly recommend staying here!

“Excellent and Cosy”

Our stay was absolutely delightful. Ellen, the host was extremely friendly and always responsive over whatsapp to help with anything and everything. The entire space has been decorated beautifully you can really tell a lot of thought and intention has been put into making sure guests have the most enjoyable stay possible. The Island runs off of generator power so AC and Hot shower in every room are hard to find in most places. We found the rooms to be a very comfortable temperature at night and has no problem with the shower temperature, it was more lukewarm than cold for us.

We had a very comfortable stay (5 nights) at Dahlia with Ellen. Dahlia Gueshouse had all you need - simple, clean, warmly, cozy. Definitely will come back again.

Ellen is a great host and made us feel really welcomed during our stay. The rooms are clean and modern and the view from the open space area is beautiful, especially during sunrise.

I really enjoyed my stay at Dahlia's guesthouse. It's set back a little bit from the main part of the village so it's nice and quiet at night. The room was great and nicely decorated and the shared facilities are nice. The host, Ellen, was lovely and was happy to answer any questions I had. I highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere to stay in M'pai Bay.

“Wonderful stay”

We had a wonderful stay at Ellen’s guesthouse. The place is cosy, full of little attentions for the guests. The patio with hammocks and pillows is wonderful in the morning to take a coffee. The rooms are well equipped and very clean (on a much higher level that you can find on average in South-East Asia). We enjoyed a lot our stay in Koh Rong Samloem and I couldn’t recommend you more to give a shot at this guesthouse.

“Amazing stay!”

So clean and tidy! Beautiful shared spaces, rooms were very nice. Free drinking water and use of kitchen! Ellen was also so welcoming and helpful. Beautiful place to stay and I would really recommend!

Where to start... it felt like home from the first day till the last ! Ellen js amazing, so kind and helpful and the guesthouse is just lovely - great view, clean private rooms, common spaces downstairs and upstairs., Bianca who worked there via "workaway" is so great and friendly ! The house is a bit on a hill so the view js great and its very quiet there but still super close to the beach and everything. This island is a very special place,, and so is the Dahlia guesthouse:) thanks for everything and im gonna try really hard to come back soon!!

“Hidden gem”

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Dahlia. It's situated in a charming local neighborhood filled with delightful restaurants and bars. Ellen's house is spacious, featuring a large lobby where you can work, relax, or enjoy a coffee—Ellen even has a real coffee maker! The entrance is impeccably clean, just like the rest of the house. The room only had a fan, but that wasn't an issue; the window with a net screen provided fantastic ventilation. The cold water in the bathroom wasn't as cold as you might expect, but it was at a pleasant temperature. If you need hot water in a shower, it's conveniently available downstairs, there is bathroom you can use. There's also a kitchen where you can prepare a sandwich or slice some fruit to enjoy on a plate. Everything is tidy and user-friendly. You can also make free refill of your bottles! And there is also a fridge to store your meal / cool your bottles... You can pay by card upon your arrival at the property. It's just a short walk from the pier, but I wouldn't recommend bringing a suitcase; a backpack is much more practical due to the lack of regular roads. One of the highlights of M'Pai village is definitely the food. There are numerous fantastic restaurants! After my experience in Koh Rong, where finding good food was a challenge, this felt like a culinary paradise. Seapony is perfect for breakfast, while Dragonfly is great for drinks and light meals—especially their baba ganoush with flatbread! I ended up extending my stay because the location was simply wonderful. For 5usd you can take a water taxi to other beaches but I prefered M´Pai vibes.
