This 3-star, family-run hotel is located in the centre of Kochel am See. Decorated in traditional Bavarian style, it features barbecue facilities and relaxing sun terrace. With an exterior decorated with typical Bavarian fresco and window shutters, Hotel zur Post offers country-style rooms with a TV and wooden furnishings. A rich breakfast is served each morning at the Post. The rustic Fischerstueberl restaurant with garden terrace offers a large menu of Bavarian cuisine, including fish from the Kochelsee Lake and local game specialities. The scenic Kochelsee Lake is a 10-minute walk away. Zur Post is an ideal starting point for walking, swimming and skiing. Bicycles can be hired for exploring the Bad Tolz-Wolfratshausen countryside.

Breakfast has limited options. Many of the buffet items were already finished and were not refilled again for new guests. Not value for money. Expensive for the value

Breakfast room was spacious, the food and drink provided was exceptional. I have stayed in many hotel over my years, with this Breakfast outlay one of the best. Also noted how quickly the staff check over the displayed food and drink to keep it top up. Highly recommend from a satisfied Brit !

The hotel was cozy, quiet, and Bavarian-style (which some may like and some may not). We had a small terrace in our room which made our stay even more enjoyable. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was great. There was not much choice for breakfast, but enough to fill the belly.
