Overview
Just 500 metres from Arima-Onsen Train Station, Kadonobo Ryokan offers a traditional hot-spring experience with indoor and outdoor kinsen-water baths. The Japanese rooms have futon beds and a private bathroom. Woodwork, tatami (woven-straw) floors and shoji paper screens decorate the peaceful rooms at Ryokan Kadonobo. Rooms are air-conditioned, with a tea maker and bathtub. The ryokan is just a 2-minute walk to Arima Toy and Automata Museum and a 20-minute walk to Rokko Mountain. Itami Airport is a 50-minute drive away. Free transfers are offered from Arima-Onsen Train Station, and parking is free. A Japanese breakfast and traditional multi-course (kaiseki) dinner are served. Lounge bar Miyabi pours drinks in the evening. The lobby has free Wi-Fi.

The place is clean, well-designed, with two hot springs (each has both an indoor and outdoor bath), there’s wifi and parking, friendly, helpful and polite staff and great value for money. 24-hour convenience store and cafes nearby as well as a bus and train station

The stuff was very friendly and accommodating even though I couldn’t speak Japanese. The Onsen was clean and very relaxing. The breakfast was traditional and one of the best I had. The location of the hotel was great. The room was spacious and in a traditional Japanese Style.

“An amazing introduction to traditional Japanese culture and hospitality”
My first stay in a ryokan. Breakfast and dinner were works of art, with a lot of fish in all forms on the menu. My nakai-san and her assistants were very helpful in spite of the language barrier. I needed their help about how to eat all the wonderful dishes they served. The onsen was perfect. The ryokan switches the men’s and women’s sides so you get to try both. I took two baths every day. The staff let me leave the futon out all day so that I could take naps after exploring Arima and nearby walks and mountains. They also helped out with extra mats for the futon - I found three mats and two duvets to be quite cozy.

“Nice short stay to enjoy the onsen”
Great location, 5 mins from bus station, 15 mins from Rokka Ropeway. Hotel has nice and clean public baths so you don’t need to go elsewhere
