“A gem of hospitality in a spectacularly beautiful town”

The well maintained facilities. Clean and through. The breakfast was traditional and very tasty. The staff had an insurmountible amount of courtesy towards their guests. As this was our first time at an onsen - an area with rules of operation - the staff very patiently clarified our questions and made us feel at ease. Getting help in english was not a problem at all since we speak only a few words in Japanese. The Onsen was clean and had all the hygeine products and facilities to accomodate that. The public onsen room had a great view of the valley and both types of spring water. Overall, all of our travel aches and pains disappeared overnight. We didn't opt for the dinner at the onsen (one of our regrets), but were provided with a traditional Yukata to explore the town and were guided by the staff on where to find places to eat around the area. (Keep in mind that this town closes all shops by 6pm) In this amazing location at Arima onsen, Takayamaso Hanano has great views of the valley. Definitely recommended and would definitely stay here again at this facility

“Nice onsen stay”

Staff service were excellent. We left some important documents behind and they promply mailed it to is free of charge. Everyone was polite and proactive. Food quality was excellent.

“Really relaxing day and night in the middle of my trip.”

A little tricky to find due to the sharp right turn back on yourself if you walk up the hill from bridge, but it's not that far a walk. You receive amazing service from the minute the staff realise you're a guest, coming out to greet you at the entrance. Everything was great with my one night stay, superb meal and breakfast, lovely big room with a view of the mountains and you won't see staff once you're checked-in unless you need them. This makes it so relaxing everywhere in the hotel. It was snowing when I was leaving, but the hotel gave me a ride up to the ropeway station.

The hospitality was perfect, I felt very cared for during my stay. The private bath was also perfect, my only regret was not staying longer because I loved every minute of my stay.

Highly recommended! We reserved for 1 nite including 1dinner and 1 breakfast. The room is big with mountain view. Food is great in Japanese style. Public onsen with 1 outdoor and 1 indoor. Staff is also friendly. Delightful stay!

I like the onsen and few minutes walk to main street for sightseeing. Staff is friendly and helpful. Reasonable price wines per glass for me to sit and drink and free coffee only from 7pm onwards.

“Relaxing, laidback, but extremely clean stays & onsen”

This was just so wonderful! The onsen was almost always empty when we went. It was clean, friendly, laid back, and had a toned-down feeling, which is exactly what we needed. Everyone kept the place immaculate but did not make us feel like we couldn't relax. There was just a tiny fee for the onsen usage, but otherwise everything was great! We weren't able to eat at the place, but so many restaurants and options were nearby. After staying here, we also realized that it was quite a famous onsen spot in Japan. How lucky!

“Beautiful small modern ryokan”

Small ryokan - beautiful, very well decorated and modern. Stayed in one of their best rooms - which had a private onsen with the signature Arima waters (massive bonus). Exceedingly well appointed room. Had the half board package - attentive server (same one throughout the stay). Food included Kobe beef - exceptional. In the heart of Arima, it’s a short stroll down some steps to the Main Street where you can browse shops and have a light lunch / snacks.

I had one of the most relaxing stays at this hotel. The thermal baths were absolutely incredible and truly an experience not to be missed. The cleanliness of the establishment is impeccable, and the staff takes great care of every guest. Everything is designed so you feel rested and completely relaxed from start to finish.

“Very relaxing stay”

Super comfy room, traditional Japanese style with some modern additions like TV, Nespresso etc Onsen small but clean, high quality shampoo and all the other things. Very good food and service. Free beer and drinks in the lobby in the evening .Hotel decoration with art and flower compositions makes it look like a museum. Personal is very friendly and helpful.

I will be staying again. The onsen was amazing! They even have open bar in the room was lovely. Staff were helpful and respectful. I really enjoyed my comfortable stay.

Interesting and VERY local experience, including the traditional Japanese breakfast, which included grilled salmon. The facilities were lovely and the onsen was extremely calm and clean, highly recommended. Note that the Onsen area is quite far from Kobe city (around 1 hour with public transportation) - so allow yourself some time if you are planning to visit Kobe. Very helpful staff - thru organised our bus back to Osaka and dropped us at the station.

The breakfast is amazing! Definitely not to be missed. The area is very quiet and serene. I love the Onsen. I will go back there again when I get a chance to.

The hotel is an amazing place to relax and enjoy a short stay. The staff was friendly and warm. The room was comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The public bath was amazing with the wonderful view of colorful trees. The breakfast was amazing. We had a memorable stay in Arima onsen. Hope we can repeat it.
