“Great experience!!!”

Awesome food, location,hospitality and vibe. Being in my 60’s I had never stayed in a hostel before, the private tents were the coolest. I’ll definitely stay there again when I come back next year.

The tent was really nice and the staff very helpful. I got stung by a jellyfish and they helped me out with lots of vinegar and called the doctor- thank you!

“This is the place”

This place has managed to combine the magic of the island with backpacker spirit, dorm quality, prices, and the flexibility you want and need when you're in a place like this. Ing, Om and Jane has cracked the code on how to run a place like this in paradise. They cherish their guest, and at the same time they're strict and professional. They create an atmosphere that make people wanna hang out, and come back to! So that's literally what people do. The hostel in itself is beautifully located 5 min walk from long beach, the dorms are spacious, shower and bathroom area is big and clean, and they have great areas for chill and hangout. Couldn't recommend this place more!

Best kitchen on the island. I love the open air showers and toilets (With walls), but they have normal boring showers aswell. There are many hangout spots, and finding a group is fun and easy. The workers and hosts are very welcoming and they have great medical and social engineering skills.

One of the best hostels in terms of facilities! They had snorkels, bikes, surfboards available to borrow/rent. Super close to the best beach for vibes and sunset and some good places to eat. The dorms were really nice and the tents as well although I preferred the dorms for comfort + they are cheaper! No A/C is okay as the fans are enough and it's not super hot at night. The bathrooms are plenty and nice under the stars.

I had an amazing stay at the Tropical Hostel on Koh Payam! The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The food is delicious and fresh, clearly made with a lot of love. The beds are very comfortable, making for a great night’s sleep. Plus, the location is perfect, just a short walk and you’re right on the beach. Overall, a fantastic place to relax, I would definitely come back and highly recommend this hostel!

“A chill meeting place for lovely people close to the beach”

The common area is so chill and really invites for socializing, without the hostel being one of those party hostels. People from all over the island, not even staying at Tropical, even come to Tropical to chill there and meet friends there. It's a meeting place for amazing, kind, open-minded people. The food is also really good (the chicken cashew omg) and they have a coffee bar with great coffee. I loved the couch and reading chairs! And the big and easily accessible lockers are also a plus! Last but not least: The location is amazing. Within 2 minutes you're on the beautiful Ao Yai Beach with heaps of nice beach restaurants to chill and have a drink at.

“Nice stay, but overpriced”

I had a nice stay at the hostel. Comfy bed, good location. I slept in a 12 beds dorm and people were all very respectful of common rules.
