Overview
Offering direct access to beautiful Ao Kratueng Beach, Makathanee Resort is located on the island of Koh Mak. Guestrooms and the outdoor pool are set within tropical landscaped gardens. Garden, pool, or sea views can be enjoyed from the room's terrace or balcony. Each air-conditioned room also has a TV, a safety deposit box, and a fridge. Guests can have a traditional Thai massage, or simply relax on the beach. Island activities include diving, fishing, and kayaking. The resort features a minimart and a small business centre. Thai and international dishes are served at Maka Thanee Restaurant, while the Beach Bar offers snacks and refreshing drinks. Evening beach barbecues are also available. Makathanee Resort is a 45-minute speedboat ride from Laem Ngop Pier. The speedboat departs to Maka Thanee Pier daily at 10:00, 14:00 and 15:00.

“Perfect place to relax and base yourself on the island. It offers everything you need from breakfast, kayak/sup rent”
We were welcomed with a complimentary welcome drink and friendly helpful staff. Rooms were cleaned each day if requested. You were also left with fresh towels regardless. It was my partners birthday and the staff offered to decorate the room with some of the local flowers which I thought was a lovely and caring response. She greatly appreciated it.

Beautiful location with easy access to the beach. Walking distance to restaurants. Probably the best hot shower I’ve had on any of the islands.

“Beachfront gem.”
Beachfront bungalow was awesome location. Hotel offered motorcycle rentals 250tbt per day. Awesome rooftop bar. Speedboat pier right on the property which was super convenient. Breakfast was OK.

The bed was comfortable, the location was fab—right on the beach—and it’s close to lots of local bars and restaurants. We easily rented a golf cart from reception and the staff were super helpful.
