Nightmare in Ko Kut

“Beautiful stay in nature with great hosts”

When you travel for a long time, its always such a pleasure to come across an accomodation where you feel comfortable and really connect with the host and the other guests, my stay was truly so so enjoyable! Sao, the owner, is a very easy going, friendly and bubbly person, her character and energy is so unique and lovely to be around, as a vegetarian, it was a pleasure to enjoy her cooking, she is vegan so has great understanding of this cuisine, however, the other guests who ate meat also shared how much they love her cooking. Every meal was delicious, she has real talent! 🏕️ The tents are very spacious, clean and comfortable, the fan was perfect to stay cool during my visit. I loved being so close to nature, being away from all traffic and listening to the rain and jungle. There was a thunderstorm one night and I stayed dry, a little rain came in but not a problem at all. Its very near to a monastery which I love!! Sao gave me a really fair price for the stay, laundry and scooter rental, thank you! :) Please remember that you are camping, this is not a resort so facilities are more limited but if you want an authentic thai camping experince then I have no doubt that you will love this place. I love what Sao and her kids have been able to accomplish, they recently purchased new tents which look great! I wish them all continual good health, happiness, peace and growth. Id love to come back one day 🇹🇭❤️🙏💫 📍HOW TO GET THERE: Follow the google maps location and go past the bridge, folloiw the road all the way up until you see a temple gate and take a left. Follow the road all the way around and you will see a left turning with some signs, one of which is for Mateoasis. Follow the road all the way down and you will see the accomodation on your left, enjoy :)

The owner is a very helpful and kind person. Also we were able to rent motorbikes in a very low price from her. The dinners were delicious. Definitely recommended.

The property had a unique and amazing style to it, good people to connect with in amongst people, good for a social and meeting good people on the journey, the best staff and a growing up and coming business that I had the pleasure of staying at, look forward to staying again in future if I revisit koh kood

When we arrive it was only tribes and really close to each other , very loud and the tribe is extremly small . Its No room there only you stay in tribe with one bathroom sharing with lot of people. I wouldnt recommend !

super dear hostess not a luxurious, but very friendly, harmonious atmosphere. There is breakfast with pancakes, scrambled eggs and fruit. the hostess also rents scooters I can't understand the previous reviews. there were very normal, calm and relaxed people there. I would stay there again for one night.

The owner is the most amazing person ever, she'll do anything and everything for you if you ask nicely, also she's updating and working on the tents all the time and fixing any issues that appear, everything on her own, anyone that has commented about the bathroom being dirty just didn't ask her to fix it and just paniked, in my experience it's fixed and clean again in under 3 hours of someone notifying her, which is amazing considering she does everything alone; now let's talk about the place, there's free breakfast every day and a barbeque in the weekend, you can order food or even cook it yourself, it's like 10 minutes walking to the nearest beach, the beds are comfy now, everything is very clean, and there's always something happening it's like a movie, it's definetly the best resort in whole thailand

“Wonderful little gypsy camp”

- Mateoasis has an incredibly friendly owner, who takes care of her guests as a mother. She is always all smiles. - I stayed 8 nights (29 Dec. - 5 Jan.) in a tent. Luckily, it wasn't warm at night. Some nights were even a bit chilly, which was great. If needed, a fan can be provided. - Mateoasis is a wonderful little gypsy camp. It's an ideal spot to meet fellow travellers. - The ferries to Koh Kut land on Tapao Pier, which is only a 10 minute walk from Mateoasis. - Also beautiful Tapao Beach is closeby. - You can rent motorbikes here. - The owner can book onward tickets. - There's a free, tasty breakfast, too! I had a fantastic week here. Thank you very much, Saao, for the great stay! 🙏
