A small boutique hotel run by a lovely (and very helpful) Thai-Aussie couple who recently renovated the hotel and put a lot of thought into it. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the rooms are very big and very comfortable. It was great to be able to jump into one of the kayaks or canoes and row upstream along the river or a short downstream row to the beach.

Beautifully renovated, delightful owners, loved having free access to the SUP and canoes. A bit remote but I think that just added to the charm and I would go back in a heartbeat. Awesome if you’re happy buzzing around on scooter but please drive carefully!

We deeply enjoyed our stay at Watercolours. Thanya, Jason, and their staff are warm and welcoming hosts, always helping with everything and making your stay best possible. They just renovated the place with love for detail and everything is clean and beautiful. We enjoyed great coffee, fresh musli and fruit plates for breakfast and Snacks :) You can borrow SUPs and Kayaks for free or take a yoga class in the Hotel on the other side of the river. There are two different beautiful beaches within 5 minutes distance and places for massages or fresh meals. We even cancelled our trip to the south of Thailand to be able to stay 5 more days! 100 % recommended!

A beautiful, small, and charming boutique hotel that only opened three months ago. Staff is super lovely and helpful with everything you may need. The rooms are very spacious and equipped with everything you need. The bed is extremely comfortable. The property is very well maintained, located directly by the river, and in my opinion the most beautiful beach on Koh Chang – Klong Prao Beach – is only about 3 minutes away. You can reach it easily by using the free kayak or canoe provided by the hotel, which makes the trip a lovely little experience.

Relaxing place to stay with great staff, we loved taking the canoes out which is included in the room rate.

We loved our stay at Watercolours. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the location is superb. We were able to enjoy the kayaks/canoes/SUPs on the river and the ocean. It was a very easy and quick walk (<5 min) to the beach and nearby beachside restaurants. Thanya and her team are extremely welcoming, and their drinks and food absolutely delicious!

The best location on Koh Chang! Mountains and sea in one view! The facilities are enormous. You can take a boat or sail yourself (canoe, kayak, SUP free to use) if you want to go to the beach or a restaurant. You can also walk there! Better still, enjoy a delicious meal on site. I had the best massage just around the corner. The five rooms offer colourful, modern comfort and are very large, as well as nice and quiet... If we could, we would come and have a pint with Jason every evening. And Tanja... what can I say? The epitome of friendliness! Together with their staff, they take care of everything your heart desires! We will definitely be back! THANK YOU 🙏🙏🙏

“Bliss”

Jason and Thanya could not have made me feel more welcome, they have recently renovated and the rainfall shower was to die for 😍 great food, comfy bed, gorgeous tiles everywhere. Watching the sunrise from the hanging swing chair with a coffee was a highlight for me - followed by exploring with the kayak up the canal and down to the beach. No words. 10/10

“Mediterranean vibe”

The authentic setting was unique, and the cool indoor pool was a life saver after moving around all day in the heat. The canoe was awesome to take out in the morning and watch all the birds and fish. Cat was super cute and playful. They also helped us book a fabulous snorkeling trip.

The hotel and rooms were very clean and had comfortable beds. We were greeted by the owner who explained services on offer and was very informative about where to go and what to do whenever we asked. The two Thai ladies were smiling and friendly. Our stay was quiet and relaxing watching the birds over the river morning and night and just a 10 minute walk down a fairly well lit track to the main road with many restaurants of all kinds and bars with temple just along the road.

“Lovely hidden gem, excellent for peaceful relaxation.”

We loved this place very much; such a hidden gem! It has a unique secluded location in a mangrove forest, on the edge of a river, close to the sea/beach. Although we had seen the location on the map, it was still surprising. (Note it is quite close to other resorts, but you do not notice they are there). This boutique resort has only 5 rooms along a corridor with plants and birds. The rooms are spacious, very beautiful, each in different vibrant colours, with lots of attention for detail. The terrace on the river looks out on the restaurants and resorts on the other side. Both in the day and in the evening it is very pictoresk. The place is amazingly peaceful and quiet. One could just delve into their well filled book case and read or just meditate. The canoes can be freely used to explore the river and the beach nearby. Yusuf and Khun May are incredibly nice and took good care of us. There was a great choice of breakfast options (not included in the room rate), and there are several restaurant options near by on the beach, river, and in the village. Just this: it is very quiet in the evenings, so this may not be for some of you!

This little place was a nice change from the beach but still had access to several beaches. Right on an estuary with kayaks, canoes and SUP’s free of charge. The place was very well kept and the staff were great. May, the lady front of house was very sweet and friendly and also Yousef the manager was very kind and informative of the surroundings.

Watercolours is absolutely amazing place for stay in Koh chang, you have absolutely secret and quait coz in place is only 6 rooms, so you fell like in privet area :) Big thanks to the owner and staff, they make me fell like home 🥹🙏❤️ (ps. Next time i brink more slivovice )

“Beautiful tranquil oasis gave a very restful stay”

We loved the serene oasis it afforded on the estuary away from the main tourist areas, the vibrant colours and design, the fact that it was small and felt like a relaxing home, great host and staff and all sorts of helpful information for booking trips, and the use of kayaks and scooters.

Extremely wonderful place to stay. You stay next to the river... you can take a kayak and go to the beach, you can rent a scooter and go wherever you want, you can simply chill over here. Eric is very helpful and the rest of the crew is very friendly (the dog too :))

We loved everything about our stay at Watercolours. The location is fantastic, we thoroughly enjoyed kayaking down to the beach along the pristine river, the hotel feels like home as you relax in the lounge area overlooking the river, breakfast was delicious and the hotel staff are ready to help you with anything that you need.
