Overview
Situated on the northern side of the lagoon, 1 km from Knysna Centre, Salt River Lodge offers self-catering cottages. It is part of a natural bird sanctuary and features an outdoor pool. Salt River Lodge has traditionally decorated units with wooden furniture and tiled floors. Each cottage has 2 TV’s and a private bathroom with shower. Guests can prepare their meals in the fully equipped kitchen, featuring an oven, a microwave, and a refrigerator. Barbecue facilities are also available. Brenton Beach is 4.5 km, while Knysna Heads is 6.5 km away. Free private parking is possible on site.

“The proximité of a very noisy and busy road…I couldn’t sleep after 5AM”
The proximité of a very noisy and busy road… You hear everything through the window, it’s like sleeping on a motorways! I couldn’t sleep after 5AM due to the constant passing of the cars and motorbikes. The lodge is also overpriced.

“On the river”
The accommodation was very nice and well represented with a balcony there was enough room for everyone to be comfortable, 5 people, It was only a sleepover but would recommend anyone to go, the location is very good right on the river with canoes aswell... Swimming pool is great for dip to cool off. Would definitely stay again when in the area

The gentleman managing the property by the name of Appel was a fantastic host. He went above and beyond to make sure that my parents and I were comfortable during our stay at both Salt river lodge and Lagoon Lodge. Can't wait to return to both.

Furniture needs an upgrade. Plumbing problems so some toilets smelled. Beds were hard & uncomfortable. Kitchen facilities need an upgrade, abit of a mouldy smell in cupboards.
