“Mandarin Resort – Beyond Everything I Imagined Paradise in Zanzibar Could Be”

Everything, absolutely everything, exceeded my expectations. Mandarin Resort truly surpassed them a hundredfold. We stayed on an All Inclusive basis and were all genuinely impressed by the food – a wonderful variety of local dishes and fresh fruits, as well as excellent options for those who prefer European cuisine. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, cleaned daily with remarkable attention to detail. Every evening the housekeeping staff even offers mosquito spraying in the rooms upon request, which shows real care for the guests’ comfort. The outdoor areas are beautifully landscaped, with palm trees, flowers and lush green lawns that create a perfect atmosphere for relaxation. Unlike many other hotels in Zanzibar, where power outages are quite common, here this issue has been fully resolved, ensuring uninterrupted comfort throughout the stay. As for the beach – it looks like a postcard from paradise. Fine, sparkling white sand, the typical shallow waters of Zanzibar, and a clear turquoise sea that is wonderfully calm, ideal both for swimming and for small children. And the sunsets… they will remain in my heart forever. What impressed me the most, however, was the hotel staff, who never for a moment left us without care or attention. Special thanks to the manager, Hanna. I have visited many luxury hotels around the world, but I have never before encountered a manager so genuinely dedicated to his work. He takes care of every detail so that, by the end of the day, there is not a single dissatisfied guest. Even when circumstances are beyond his control, he still does everything possible to ensure that guests feel cared for and have everything they need. I truly cannot think of a single reason not to choose Mandarin Resort when visiting Zanzibar.

Hana, the restaurant manager, was an absolute delight, and would go out of his way to make sure you had everything you needed. Everybody were very welcoming and made our stay fantastic. Our stay at the resort had only a few couples and families which became a holiday family. Better than a busy resort in some ways for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views from the pool area. The pool by the way was as warm as a bath, the sea was amazingly warm also. A beautiful place to go. the trips were also very good. Check the temperatures before you go, it can get unbearably hot in the summer months.

A Slice of Paradise! Two Perfect Weeks at Mandarin Resort, Kizimkazi We spent two wonderful weeks at the Mandarin Resort in Kizimkazi and it was an unforgettable experience. The location is fantastic – Kizimkazi is like Zanzibar in a nutshell, offering a beautiful beach and a charming local village. The entire staff made us feel cared for throughout our entire stay. A special mention must go to the resort owners who live on-site; their personal touch and dedication to ensuring we had a marvelous time was truly exceptional. We opted for the all-inclusive package and were thoroughly impressed. The restaurant provided fresh, organic food in ample portions. We appreciated their approach to serving just the right amount to avoid waste. The bar was well-stocked with a great variety of drinks, and the restaurant service itself was impeccable. Our room was cleaned regularly, with fresh towels provided daily and complimentary bottled water replenished. We highly recommend booking one of the sea-view bungalows. The pools were also maintained to a very high standard, always clean and inviting. The resort's animation team, especially George, was a highlight. He was incredibly friendly and, like the rest of the crew, always wore a smile. We also send a special hello to Hanna, the restaurant supervisor, who was wonderful. To top it all off, the on-site massage services were of the highest quality, perfect for complete relaxation. In one word: paradise! We will cherish the memories from our stay and highly recommend the Mandarin Resort.

“Great place for a serene beach vacation!”

Service is a 10! All the staff members were so friendly and attentive. Special shoutout to Halidi who led the animation team and organized many great activities such as aqua gymnastic and darts. We were seeking a relaxing beach vacation away from mass tourism and came to the right place for this. It felt all very personal and serene. The complimentary pool breakfast was a nice touch. The drive to the airport and Stonetown is around 1-1.5 hours. The beach is lovely. White sand, not too much seaweed, crystal clear water and depending on the tide also good for swimming. The resort is very well kept - such as the garden, pool area, beach. The suite was spacious and offered a georgeous front row sea view. Security made us feel safe and mostly kept the beach vendors away from the private hotel beach section.

Our experience at this resort was truly special – relaxing, pampering, and full of good vibes. The resort has a private beach, which made everything even more peaceful and exclusive. The hotel staff were kind, friendly, and always ready to help with anything we needed. We honestly had the best vacation we could have imagined! The food was delicious, varied, and satisfying. Hanna, who manages the dining room, was exceptionally pleasant, professional, and always made sure our meals were perfect. We also want to mention Khaled, who was in charge of the entertainment and activities – he made every day fun and full of great energy. We had such a great time that we didn’t even want to leave the resort — it had everything we could possibly wish for!

We had a room with our own private pool whiich was next to the beach so a beautiful view over gardens and Seaview I can't fault this hotel. We booked into a nearby hotel but it was awful so booked in here last minute. Didn't even unpack. Luckily the mandarin was literally 2 minutes away Perfect. Wish we had stayed longer Staff 10/10

Very nice breakfasts, they did an amazing job with breakfast basket on the pool one morning, and a romantic dinner on the beach another night. Mr Hanna and Mr Magdy were very kind and friendly throughout the stay.

“Beautiful. But don't pay for all inclusive or an upgraded room”

The views are stunning. The main pool is lovely. It's very peaceful, the staff are fantastic (Hanna in particular). It's a very relaxing place to be. My rating is only low because of value for money on the top end package. I would recommend staying here but don't go all inclusive and choose a basic room (see below)
