Overview
Situated on a private palm fringed beach, Karamba lies on the South West coast of Zanzibar in the Kizimkazi Dimbani Village. The resort offers an outdoor swimming pool, bar and restaurant. Individually decorated bungalows are equipped with a seating area, mosquito net and a fan. Each unit offers a terrace or a patio with sea views and the en-suite bathroom has an outdoor shower. Karamba restaurant overlooks the Indian Ocean and offers local and international cuisines comprising of Mediterranean, seafood and vegetarian dishes. Guests can enjoy a selection of cocktails and beverages at the bar. Karamba also features a solarium and sun terrace. A variety of activities including fishing, snorkelling and diving can be arranged upon request. Free WiFi is available in public areas. Jozani Forest is within 28 km and Zanzibar Airport is a 60-minute drive from the resort.

Beautiful place in an amazing spot of the island, with a variety of rooms, surrounded by nature. A small beach when you can observe local life and access to the sea on the rocky coast for a more private swim. Spectacular. Dinner place under the trees with sea view: very cozy.

“Our favourite place to stay in Zanzibar”
Stunning location and the people are the most lovely and friendly you will meet! We had the luck of staying in a few different locations in Zanzibar and Karamba was by far our favourite. The owner kindly upgraded our room and was super helpful with planning local things to do on the island. The place is set on the west side of the island which also has the most stunning sun sets. Finally it has by far the best food we tried on the island for reasonable prices and it's great to see the monkeys around the resort!

“Amazingly beautiful beach”
This hotel is set at one end of a white-sand beach in a cove near the Southern tip of Unguja, enclosed in a bay and by a tidal reef and is part of the small fishing village of Dimbani, which is much quieter and less touristy than the neighbouring Kizimkazi Mkunguni. It is a staggeringly beautiful place with crystal clear waters which can be reached either by the beach of steps leading down from the hotel grounds, at least at high water. There is also a pool which has fantastic views out to sea but which offers little shade during the hottest times of the day. It is the perfect place to recover after a long flight or to escape the hassles and hustles of Stonetown. It is self-contained and the food is amazing, especially the seafood. It is easy and reasonably cheap to get a taxi to Mkunguni, which has many more hotels, bars and restaurants and has expanded rapidly through tourists staying there to go swimming with dolphins. At least one operator also runs from Dimbani itself. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and were able to move me to a different bungalow when I had concerns about a steep step in the one I had booked. The resort ticks pretty much every box in terms of the beauty of its location and its peacefulness and even has a semi- resident colobus monkey who appears from time to time in the trees which shade the terrace. My only reservations are that it felt a bit too self-contained after a couple of days and there is very little within easy walking distance apart from two other lodges or hotels and a very small bar and shop in the village.

The views from the rooms are amazing. staff is very approachable and receptive. Need a taxi: no problem! need an umbrella: consider it done. breakfast simple, but tasty and with a great view. the mangos were out of this world.

the location was heaven, very beautiful. the hotel food was extremely tasty, even the cheapest soup from the menu was a spectacle. 2 menues: a fixed one and a daily one: 10+ the breakfast, extremely tasty and abundant the fruits were out of this world, the juices from the bar, very very good. the staff and the owner very careful and available 10+ they changed our room from the open concept to a more conventional one. Staff very punctual, contrary to the ‘pole pole’ saying. Clean

Top location beautiful setting & garden. Good place to chill and unwind. At high tide you can go for swim in the sea via stairs. Stunning sunsets.The staff are all so friendly. Food was delicious. Ideal location to go diving with Dive time Zanzibar as they collect you in morning.
