“Beautiful boutique hotel with fantastic food and wonderful staff”

had a fantastic stay at Kameleon Blue and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kizimkazi. The property feels like a peaceful oasis, with a beautiful swimming pool, lovely gardens and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. It's just a short walk from the beach, making it a great base for exploring the area while still feeling tucked away from the crowds. The food at the restaurant was excellent and one of the highlights of my stay. The WiFi was also reliable, which was important as I was working remotely during my visit. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout my stay, always happy to assist with anything I needed. The rooms and common areas were spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, creating a really comfortable and inviting environment. A wonderful place to relax, unwind and enjoy the quieter side of Zanzibar. I would definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at Chameleon Blue Lodge on the beautiful island of Zanzibar. The location is truly special, surrounded by nature and wildlife, which creates a peaceful and authentic atmosphere. We always felt very safe and welcomed. What makes this place unique is the strong sense of community—you’re not isolated like in many resorts, but genuinely connected with the staff and local culture. The food was excellent, always fresh, with delicious fish, vegetables, and fruit. It’s the perfect place to relax, reconnect with nature, and experience Zanzibar in a more meaningful way. The host was incredibly kind, helpful, and responsive throughout our stay. We highly recommend this lodge and would definitely come back!

“Magnificent relax lay back”

What a hidden gem Blue Kameleon is! I originally came here for two nights to find some peace and quiet, and I found that almost immediately. Very quickly I fell in love with the atmosphere of this place. From the very first moment you receive a warm welcome. The hostess, Annick, is truly amazing. She always makes sure everything is exactly as it should be and is happy to help with anything you might need. Don’t hesitate to ask if something isn’t fully to your expectations. Annick is a real super host who puts a lot of effort into training her team, and it clearly shows. The team does a fantastic job welcoming guests in a friendly and personal way, and feedback is genuinely appreciated here. Another impressive thing is that Annick speaks many languages, including French, Italian, German, and even a bit of Dutch if you’d like. This makes guests from all over the world feel comfortable and understood. Blue Kameleon is perfect for both solo travelers and couples. There are hostel-style rooms as well as private villas on the property, so there’s something for everyone. The atmosphere is open-minded, relaxed, and a bit alternative — perfect if you are looking for a peaceful and unique place to stay. There are also plenty of activities to enjoy. You can start your day with yoga in the morning, relax with massages during the day, and even join Muay Thai training in the evening. There is also a pool table where guests can hang out and have some fun together. And the beach is only a few minutes’ walk away from this hidden paradise. And I haven’t even mentioned the food yet — the breakfast and meals at Blue Kameleon are absolutely delicious. The price-quality ratio? Easily 10/10. Si tu viens de BX, c’est la BX de Zanzibar! 😉

I had a wonderful stay at Kameleon Blue. From the moment I arrived, the receptionist Julius gave me such a warm welcome and truly made me feel at home. His hospitality set the tone for the entire stay. All the other staff were equally friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food was excellent, the spicy octopus curry was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Compliments to the kitchen! The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, which made the stay even more enjoyable. To top it all off, the live music on Monday was entertaining and created a lovely atmosphere. Overall, a great experience. I would definitely recommend Kameleon Blue and look forward to visiting again.

We loved Kameleon Blue so much we booked another night . It's a small lodge with just a few villas and a few rooms so it feels very homely. It's tucked away between bigger places , in a beautiful garden , with the small but beautiful and quiet beach just a 5 min walk away. Everyone working there treats you like family who are genuinely interested in you happiness and wellbeing, from Clifton and Julius to the very sweet Rachel and Nassor and indeed, chef Toby who magics up wonderful food worthy of a 5 star restaurant. Our little villa was spacious and comfortable. Highly recommended!

“Nice place for relaxing”

I have stayed 4 nights with my 3 kids and wife at Kameleon Blue. We have enjoyed the beautiful garden, the pool and the restaurant area, The staff were very friendly and helpful The food a bit pricy but tasty. The place is quiet and one can make nice walks in the surroundings, without the crowds.

Very relaxing place! Usually awesome food (very depending on the cook - Portion, ingredients, seasoning varies a Lot) and ready to react on allergies, thank you! Richard is the good Soul of the place, He is the most professional, Kind and thoughtful Host I could think of, thank you so much!! Especially for the Aloe Vera for my sunburn! Lucy is a great Yoga teacher, best recommendations 🤩 The 8-bed-dormitory is a really roomy, arty place, Peace and Beauty for your Soul! 🌴

“Cool place!”

What a lovely hotel out in a lovely peaceful coastal village in the South of Zanzibar. Perfect place to just relax, chill out and have yummy food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was also amazing. Luckily I was there on a “Blue Monday” which are live music nights…would definitely recommend.

“Travel with impact”

This is a little oasis within Kizimkazi. You have everything what you need, excellent food (breakfast is included, other drinks and food you can order at the bar and can pay also by card), swimming pool, you can book tours, they offer workshops, yoga and massages (I loved it) and they try to support and involve the community around the area, for me a big plus. I also participated in the village walk, just be prepared and bring maybe food, clothes, pencils etc for the people in this poor village.

Really amazing! Annick and whole her team are just perfect! And the food.... price-performance hands down the best in Zanzibar. Some on the plates that comes out of the kitchen are on the Michelin star level! Seriously!!
