This place is a real find. We loved the amazing setting and beautiful room design. The people working there, the ethos and the interesting chats with Banda. The jungle walk and waterfall swim. The food was exceptional for breakfast and dinner. Foraged herbs and veg with the most requisite taste !!!! The feeling of being out of the rat race and seeing a more wild Sri Lanka . The attention to detail and flowers all around the property . The room in the photos is the 180 degree view one . Others don’t have this view .

An amazing glamping place! So nicely made! In the middle of the forest, you could hear nature noises and have a brew to taking view. The food they prepared, both breakfast and dinner, was delicious! Local flavors with local products. It was the best food we had in Sri Lanka. They have also a common space where you can play chess, do yoga or just relaxed. Literally fantastic!

A super unique place to stay, hidden up in the jungle overlooking the Kituluga valley. It wasn’t busy when we stayed there so plenty of space to relax and very quiet - not much else to do but that’s the point! The family who run the hotel are very kind and hospitable, and cooked some of the best food that we had in Sri Lanka. All in all a great place to stay.

We fell in love with this place. The combination of the beautiful nature, warmest people, best food and wonderful room made it a magical experience for us. The walk with Banda was also a great experience. Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful 3 night stay at Wanakaset Forest Glamping. The setting of the hotel in the forest was amazing. Very unique. The staff were great and the food unbelievable. Banda even dropped me off at my mountain biking tour in the morning free of charge when I mentioned it. The highlight was them making a birthday cake for me. I mentioned it was my birthday, so at dinner a cake with my name was given including candles. What a brilliant surprise for me. It was great!! Highly recommended place to stay if you are in Kitlugala.

It was amazing to be in the middle of the Jungle. We saw some incredible birds & wildlife right from our bedrooms. The staff were wonderful, super friendly, helpful and welcoming. Food was fantastic.

Wanakaset was an incredible property you really feel you’re in the middle of the Sri Lankan forest. The rooms were spacious and clean, food was superb! Attentive and genuine family run business.

Remote stay in the middle of forest, stuff is very friendly and they make sure guests to feel comfortable. Their vegetarian dinner is very tasty from local/forest vegetation, they have locally grown tea/coffee very tasty

“Nature's retreat”

Amazing hidden gem , located in a beautiful rai forest , spacious rooms with beautiful views , all staff were amazing Banda and his family, the gentlemen driving the jeeps and the ferry service across the river. Food is fresh, delicious and from the garden. We arrived at 5.30am (yes) and there was a canoe and jeep waiting for us to start our adventure! Wished we could have stayed longer, hope to one day return.

It was tranquil and authentic. Waking up to the view of the jungle & sounds of the birds and the forest was beautiful. The food was delicious, fresh and varied. There is also a lounge area guests can use which has scenic views and is a perfect place to relax. The kids enjoyed exploring the jungle area. The manager was kind and extremely knowledgable. It was a wonderful experience and was the highlight of our trip.
