The remote setting is lovely, as was our hostess, who happily arranged tuk tuks and cooked delicious breakfasts and dinners for us (to be fair, there are no other options as it is deep within a plantation).

This was our favorite place on our trip. Both in terms of Kitugala and the nature and people living here, but especially because of Mona, her son and the very relaxed and homy feel this place had. We absolutely loved it!

The location is remote. Lots of places to walk and swim. Ayurvedic hospital for massage and medication is excellent. Food is great. Little shop is a short walk as is the temple.

The location is truly nestled in the heart of the forest—an idyllic green paradise. That said, if you’re uncomfortable around insects or wildlife, this may not be the right spot for you, and it’s best not to waste Mona’s time. For nature lovers, though, it’s a dream come true. The natural pool is simply breathtaking.

The location is stunning and Mona is an excellent cook. We ended up eating all our meals here and she helped us to book rafting/canyoning and transport at cheaper rates than we could have for. Highly recommended

Amazing nature retreat with natural pool. In a less touristy area, and with only the sound of birds and other animals we had the best sleep ever. Mona was super helpful and cooked some of the best meals we had in Sri Lanka. Highly recommend staying here

Amazing location. The host took care of us from our arrival until check out. The river passing by made it crazy to our kids. Really impressive and natural pond just for us, sorrounded by nature and tea plantation. There are 2 room, along the host s house.

“Loved it”

Mona, her aunt and her boy Shaun are just adorable. The place is unique and when you arrive, you find yourself away from everything in the middle of the jungle, it’s absolutely stunning. There is wildlife, beautiful birds dancing and a natural pool that is incredible. I am a solo mum traveler with my toddler and it was beautiful to see our sons play together. She even watched my boy so I could get enjoy the natural pool. Mona is a cool and lovely woman and I loved how her and aunty are running thia place. I would love to come back! Dinner was one of the best I had in Sri Lanka! Absolutely loved this place!
