“Wonderful ryokan with great location and sincere human interactions”
My fiancé and I stayed there for 2 nights. We really enjoyed our stay. The ryokan is traditional, very clean and organised. We had two single rooms (the only available ones at the time) and each was a good size and provided enough room for the bed, desk and seating area. The location is fantastic - it is within walking distance of many nice food and drink places, and supermarkets as well. We had sincere human interactions with the people that own the ryokan, all the way from check-in to check-out. They even offered to be as accomodating as possible to our single-room situation by offering to move an extra bed in to one of the rooms. They would ask us how our day was, and was genuinely curious to ask more questions when they heard we went skiing. This human interaction was a highlight for us and truly made it feel like a real and special ryokan. The highlight was definitely the owner's dog - incredibly cute, and the owner was open to letting me pat and hold her. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area.
