“Beautiful place with the kindest staff”

We loved our stay at Nyungwe Ecolodge. We arrived in heavy rains and we were kindly given an upgrade to a room from our tent we had booked. Staff even brought food menus to us so we wouldn’t have to go out in the rain! We had the spaghetti bolognaise and it was so good we had it a second night! The restaurant is a lovely cosy room with an open fire, a great place to enjoy a cold beer and the manager Eric is lovely to chat to. We had such a nice relaxing stay, the room was lovely, bed was comfy, and all the staff were so friendly. Not to mention breakfast is great and very filling! Sets you up well for a day of walking in the forest.

“Stunning location for views of Nyungwe Forest”

Stunning location overlooking the forest of Nyungwe with plenty of birds, insects & animals to see (we saw a Blue Monkey feeding in one of the trees close by) Rooms are very nice with strangely the most comfortable bed we've slept in. Location is about 45min away from Uwinka visitor centre for chimpanzee trekking (and other activities). Staff were friendly and welcoming with the opportunity for local tours to be arranged (we didn't get a chance to use this). Site also has a nice little shop of locally made items of various sizes which is great for gifts from Rwanda.

Breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. They always tried to do their best to satisfy us within their possibilities. We made a mistake and they changed the request without any questions. We choose a tent to stay and they allowed us to stay in a room of we were cold.

Stunning views of the hills and tea plantations. Cosy cottages and with heating if you wish. Beautiful fire lit in the evening.

“Beautiful Nyungwe Nziza Ecolodge”

The location is peaceful with stunning views. The chalet was comfortable, and the fire in the evening made it cosy!

“Cosy, family-feel stay in the heart of Nuungwe forest”

I had the best stay at Nziza Ecolodge. The place has a family feel to it, and the staff were so lovely and did everything they could to help me plan my travel around Nyungwe. The lodge is 45 mins from Nyungwe forest reception which was the perfect location for the chimpanzee trekking when it starts so early. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, with pristine towels and bedding. As everyone else says, I also have to also recommend the Napolitana pasta - a delicious treat! Thank you so much to the whole team ☺️

“Good accommodation for upscale hikers.”

Facilities were really good, and we especially enjoyed the warm shower after a soaking hike ant the very comfortable beds. The food is excellent and comes in large portions.

Unfortunately our room was directly located above the campfire and was full of smoke which made it impossible to stay in the room in the evenings. We did mention it to the staff but nothing did change.

Nothing and it was such a bad experience to stay there!

The views are spectacular, looking over the forest. The air is cool and clean. The surrounding areas are friendly. It is worth visiting this part of Rwanda. There were some nice places to sit and a campfire. The breakfast was good.

“Convenient location to explore Nyungwe forest national park”

The lodge-style restaurant and bar area had a lovely vibe. The staff were super friendly and helpful with arranging activities, including a local tea plantation tour. The tent was comfortable with access to a clean bathroom nearby and good hot water in the shower.

WOW! Amazing location! I was in the mountain view room and LOVED it. also talk about best pasta in Rwanda. would 100% stay again! A great spot before a long hike in Nyungwe.

“Beautiful place!”

This place looks amazing, you have beautiful tiny houses with an incredible view over the nyungwe forest. The staff was very kind and nice and helped us a lot with all our questions about the national park. Also the food was very nice, the spaghetti Bolognese we highly recommend and the African boulette we could’ve eaten ten of them! So we highly recommend and hope to come back!
