“Great place for a fair price”

It is an nice place to stay for doing the golden monkey or gorilla tracking. The house is clean and has all the facilities you need. Food is served in the restaurant at a other (sister) hotel. But they are planning on providing these facilities on location as well. Furthermore the prices were fair!

The location was near the entrance to Mgahinga .park Emily the staff, told us about the community and accompanied us to the park. She was nice and interesting.

The B&B is only a 5 min drive/15-20 min walk from the entrance gate of Mgahinga NP, which makes it a good starting point if you want to go for a hike in the morning. The owners are very friendly. Breakfast was good and served in a timely manner (dinner in the restaurant near the park entrance was also good, but I recommend using a car at least one way). The room was clean and sufficiently big.

Great place to stay if you are discovering Mgahinga National Park. Right in the local village. The place was very clean, breaky was yummy. The food at the restaurant (which is about 1km away) was really delicious too. Emma (staff of accommodation) has helped us out so much. Directing us into the right direction of where to start our gorilla trekking. Helping with organazing the golden monkey trek. Helping when there was any problem at the accommodation itself. He took us on a walking tour around the village and we had a fun game of volleyball with him and his friends. He accompanied us everywhere we went. I can highly recommend this place. I would stay there again no doubt. Thank you Emma so much for everything.

Hot water worked. Clean and comfortable enough and a good value. 10-minute drive from the sister property where the meals are cooked. Good food for all three meals, including a packed lunch for your hike if desired.

“perfect place for Mgahinga visits”

The house is very close to the main park entrance. it’s very clean, has a nice hot shower and comfortable simple rooms. The breakfast was nice and we were offered dinner in a nearby property that was also excellent. However, it’s not practical to stay here if you are climbing Mt Muhavura, because that trek starts from a different entrance, which is 40 minutes driving on very bad roads early in the morning. for all the other activities, it’s just the perfect place!

Bernard the caretaker was fantastic from start to finish and he had a lovely support team both at the homestay and at the sister accommodation Amajambere Iwacu Community Camp, where the meals are. Bernard has a boda boda and very kindly met us in Kisoro and drove us to Ntebeko River Camp. He also found out where the gorillas were for my trek the next day and as they were not near Ntebeko he took me to breakfast at Amajambere Iwacu Community Camp and then to the appropriate gate. After the trek he was there to meet me and take me back to Ntbeko. Excellent service. Our accommodation had very comfortable beds and lovely new en suite bathrooms with hot showers. It was very nice to have a separate sitting / dining room to relax in and it was also nice to have the verandah overlooking the private garden to sit outside on. The food was very good at Amajambere Iwacu Community Camp and there was a lot of it ! It was nice to meet other people there and the dining room had a lovely log fire in the evening. Edison is excellent at responding to messages and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend Ntbeko River Camp.
