“Sabynio Hike Base Camp”

The staff was super helpful and the camp is located right at the gate of the park, which is perfect if you want to go for Sabynio hike. The food is decent and they can prepare packed lunch. Everything is super simple, don't expect any luxury at all.

“Quiet stay at the community camp”

Clementia was extremely warm and welcoming. She even arranged a local guide for us to do bird watching on the evening. The room was large and comfortable. The camping area looked grassy and smooth! The food was amazing. There was a fire pit in the dining room during the evening. The facility is situated right before the entrance of the park.

I had a great stay at Amajambere Iwacu Community Camp. I organised a boda trip with Bernard, which I'd recommend. I hiked Mount Sabinyo, and this was the perfect base camp (definitely stay an extra day for recovery). The food was good, the dorm was comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were adequate. It's a beautiful property. It was very quiet! There was only one other guest during my stay, so I felt like I had the property to myself. I'd definitely recommend if you are doing any activities in Mgahinga!

Really nice and cozy place with good food. The hosts are very friendly and helpful! Perfect location, especially for Saybinyo hike. The gate to NP is not even 5 minutes walking, where you can find hyraxes :)

Great location. Right at the gate of the visitor centre for hiking the volcanoes or seeing the golden monkeys. Useful for getting info if doing gorilla trek. Provide a Boda Boda to the other gate for gorilla trekking. Very peaceful and surrounded by nature. Nice hot shower. Very nice veg soup and breakfast. Lovely staff. Bit chilli at night so dress warm.

“Can't beat the location and price”

Phenomenal location, great to wake up next to the park entrance rather than drive the awful road from Kisoro in the morning. Great value for money, clean room, good food and friendly staff. Fire pit in the evening was also very nice, albeit a bit smoky indoors.

“Great climbing base”

Great location right next to the gate, perfect for climbing Sabinyo. Staff very kind ! Good food portions by evening fire. Simple accommodation, but nice beds with plenty of blankets it's everything you need! Thank you it was great.

My second stay at Amajambere and it was as fabulous as the first. The staff are excellent and Clemensia went above and beyond to make the whole experience exceptional and together with Emma made my stay very special. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is done with a smile and enthusiasm. Could not ask for more or for better. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and the food is delicious and enormous portions! The location is perfect for the National Park gate 2 minutes away. Why stay anywhere else? 100% recommend.

Nice calm location close to the rainforest gates, very friendly and helpful people, great service. We got drivers organized, early breakfast and late dinner without complications. Would always stay there again, thank you so much!

Great location for one of the gates. Unfortunately for us the gorillas had moved so we had to drive 40 mins to the other gate.
