Overview
This boutique hotel is peacefully situated in the South Iceland, in the village of Kirkjubaejarklaustur, a 1-hour drive from Skaftafell and Reynisfjara Black Beach, and 15-minutes drive from Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon and Laki Craters. All rooms include a flat-screen TV, private bathrooms with premium bathroom amenities, Nespresso coffee-machines. Renovated in 2023, the hotel features modern room décor, quality restaurant and a cocktail bar. Hotel Klaustur’s in-house restaurant offers modern cuisine with 80% of locally sourced ingredients. Room was clean and comfortable with a view. Breakfast was absolutely outstanding! We ate like kings - there is so much choice it is amazing. 10/10 for breakfast.

“A good choice for Klaustur”
A modern hotel with nice rooms, good in-room facilities and great branded toiletries. We had a great breakfast with plenty to choose from. The staff very sweetly organized fresh eggs for us. Very happy with our stay and would recommend the place.

No smart tv even though it was stated that our room has it, no essential bathroom equipment. Overall, not good value for money, I had much better experience at cheaper Icelandic hotels.

“Modern, comfortable hotel in great location with friendly staff.”
Lovely, modern hotel situated in the only town of any size between Vik and Höfn. It's therefore perfectly situated to use as a base for exploring the Vatnajökull National Park. The staff were incredibly helpful, including moving our booking to the following day when a storm closed the ring road, and the hotel is modern and comfortable. The restaurant looks great too, although we opted for the cafe down the road (along with most of Kirkjubæjarklaustur it seemed). Will definitely stay again if we ever make it back to Iceland.
