Overview
A 10-minute walk from JR Kokubu Train Station, Sunhotel offers massage services and bicycles for hire. Guests stay in air-conditioned rooms with an en suite bath, a satellite LCD TV and a yukata robe. Rooms at Sunhotel Kokubu are simply furnished and come with free wired internet and a fridge. You can make hot green tea with the electric kettle, and slippers and toiletries are provided. Sakurajima is a 50-minute drive away, and the hotel has free on-site parking. The Kirishima City Office and Kokubu Central Hospital are both 500 metres from the hotel. There is a coin launderette on the 8th floor, and free coffee is provided at the lobby. The front desk is open 24/7. A Japanese/Western breakfast buffet is served daily at the Soleil dining area on the ground floor.

“A good value emergency hotel.”
A business hotel a bit of a way from Kagoshima airport, but the only thing available after we missed the last flight. It was fine for our needs, good value, and close to some lively places for a drink or dinner. The breakfast was minimalist, but OK.

“Comfortable and convenient out of town business hotel.”
Proximity to Kagoshima Airport. Convenient walk from Kokubu JR station on Nippou/Miyazaki line 1hr from Kagoshima Chuo and Kagoshima stations. Nice shopping on the way, Including large Daiso. Breakfast self service with good Covid measures and new individual places for eating. Staff tried to be helpful with no English and got me a taxi to the airport. Business hotel. Easy to find.

“Not worth it - avoid breakfast and have a car”
The room is ok, what you can expect from a business hotel. The reception desk staff was helpful. I like that you have bicycles at disposal.

Very good cost-performance rate: free parking, free simple breakfast (in Japanese style mainly), coffee machine at the entrance lobby.
