Overview
Hotel Machalas is a large complex of apartments. It is located in Kipoi village which is in central Zagori. The complex’s traditional architecture is based on wood and hand-hewn stone. Each apartment has its own individual style and décor that may include multicoloured Zagorian ceilings, heavy Persian carpets and traditional hand-made wood and iron furniture. The apartments are equipped with a fireplace, heating, a hydromassage shower or spa bath and an LCD satellite TV. A rich buffet breakfast which includes homemade jam, honey and bread is served in the lobby area. Machalas also has a family-run tavern serving traditional specialities. Hotel activities that can be arranged by the hotel include hiking, climbing and rafting. Near the complex there is a tavern, a bakery, a grocery and a pastry shop. Beauty treatments and massage sessions can be arranged upon request. Hotel Machalas is very close to traditional, stone-built bridges and Vikos Gorge. Ioannina Airport is at 33 km. There is private parking on site and free Wi-Fi is available throughout.

“Great hotel in the centre of Zagori”
Room was spacious, it was located in a good distance from most attractions, the owner was super friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant opposite the hotel is one of the best in all of Zagori - definitely try cooked meals instead of just going for grills.

Well appointed comfortable and clean classic local style accommodation. Peaceful and conveniently located to explore other villages and more so the Michalis Taverna across the road which is part of the hotel accommodation. Parking at the hotel is perfect as is the local supermarket just down the road. The owner Michalis and his wife Athena were wonderful hosts providing delicious food and service. The breakfast is excellent and keeps you going all day. The hotel is perfectly located to explore this amazing region. Also a mention for Eleutheria who served us at the taverna with a friendly and warm hospitality.

“Allow yourself to be very pleasantly surprised in every way”
Hotel Machalas is one of those places that absolutely surprises you in every way. Build and decorated in a traditional style yet modernly equipped, clean, with comfortable beds and an excellent breakfast. Surrounded by beautiful stone bridges, it is an excellent base for exploring this part of the Zagori region. Thank you to the very kind hosts for making our short stay as comfortable as possible.

Faboulos place, the accomodation was really nice, the place is very clean and neat. I felt like I was in a fairytale. The village also has fireflyes in order to complete the accomodation style. Good bed, nice room, parking space.
