“the BEST stay!!”

The staff were amazing!! So friendly and the food was delicious. Sadly didn’t see much on our river cruises but that wasn’t for lack of trying! No aircon but the fan was powerful enough as long as your windows were open which have a bug screen. Good wifi in rooms and communal area.

“Idyllic stay in jungle”

Absolutely wonderful stay. The location is close to river bank, in the jungle, quiet and peaceful. Our guide Kai was very attentive and knowledgeable, I really enjoyed every boat trip with him. All staff is very friendly, and food was plentiful and always yummy. My spacious bedroom had a fan, what was effective and quiet. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for adventure on Kinabatangan river.

The place is incredible, right in the jungle and near the river, you can see monkeys and squirrels all day long and at night the wild civet cat is coming to eat cigales. Marc was an amazing guide, he really gave all his heart to help us find all the animals possible to see, with him in two days we've seen all big 5 including Elephants and orang-outan

The meals were delicious. The staff were helpful and very courteous . We had Marc as our guide and his knowledge of mammals and birds found on the river was exceptional. We had a great time staying there. My wife had a birthday while staying there and the staff even produced a birthday cake, they went over and above our expectations.

Lovely communal area to eat and relax. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were absolutely lovely and the food was superb: freshly cooked, generous portions and varied. We particularly enjoyed the aubergine curry and the beef rendang. We had a really lovely two days here and saw loads of wildlife. Highly recommend as very good value for money.

Fantastic experience only accessible by boat offering a authentic experience. We were very lucky and managed to see the big 5, Bornean orangutans, Pygmy elephants salt water crocodiles, proboscis monkeys and rhinoceros horn birds. Food was good and the staff were amazing.

“Fantastic 2 nights in the jungle”

We loved our 2 nights in the jungle. The central area is great, lots of tables & chairs & lounges. The staff were lovely. Mark & Kai the guides were great and tried to spot wildlife for us. Unfortunately we didn’t see any elephants or orangutans. Lots of crocodiles, monkeys & birds. We even found some otters which was fantastic. A fun experience.

Fantastic remote location in the jungle, accessible by 2 hour drive from Sandakan plus a 10 minute boat ride (they will pick you up from a hotel or airport). Wonderful guides Marc and Kai were so knowledgeable and friendly, and went out of their way to ensure we saw lots of wildlife - we were able to see the Big Five during our 3D2N stay. Delicious meals, comfortable room, Starlink WiFi, just a great place to stay and I can't wait to come again someday.

Great location fabulous food our guide mark and boat driver rossy were outstanding. Communal room comfortable and unlimited water and hot drink and juice.boat trips twice per day included and outstanding scenery saw 4 out 5 Borneo and Mark tried his best to find elephants. Even provided packed breakfast as we had to leave early. All staff went above and beyond to make us welcome.

Best place to be there. The two boat trips have been super, Lukas was very good guide. A lot of spare time, bring something to read with. Good Wifi at the main Hose and in the rooms.

Everywhere including my room was extremely clean. The food was DELICIOUS. My guide and everyone who works here is so kind. Went out of his way to show me every possible animal. I saw all the Borneo Big 5 in 3 days - so lucky. Monkeys everywhere outside your room including proboscis monkeys, also saw a civet and monitor lizard. The staff made me a packed breakfast as I checked out early, dropped me at the bus stop and helped me with my ticket. Such kind people and as you’re in the most remote lodge you have a lot more wildlife outside your bedroom door. Amazing. Highly recommend. Felt super safe as a solo female traveller too.

Every people are very nice, especially the guide Mr. Kai and the boat driver Mr. Neil gave us wonderful cruise journeys with seeing elephant families,orangutans, Proboscis Monkey, Horbills, snakes and many many birds. We also chose the optional night cruise (with Mr. Mark-the night search expert) during which we saw different animals like owls, eagles, sleeping monkeys and crocodiles etc. And each cruise, they extended the time much longer in order for us to see more. We really appreciate their hospitality.

“Unforgettable and absolutely amazing staff!”

This place is located in the middle of the jungle secluded from the other companies which is really nice! It’s very basic but you cant really expect anything else as it is in the middle of nature. The food is simple malay style, but it fills you up and gives you energy. The staff were amazing! Kay did such a great job explaining the nature and all the projects they do to protect the nature. Nine did an amazing job sailing us around and we felt super safe! Over all the staff was super nice, very helpful and informative even though there sometimes was a language barrier. The staff honestly made this trip the best trip, the way they care for the nature and their guest is incredible! We were super lucky and saw all Borneo’s big five and the elephants came to the lodge so we saw them up real close, which would never happened at the bigger resorts, furthermore we went on a night cruise where we really wanted to see a crocodile and the staff did all in their power to fulfil that wish, still knowing nature is nature and you cant control it! I cant express it enough how amazing the staff was Kay, Nine and Mark did such a great job and the rest of the staff as-well!

We had an amazing time at this lodge! The people working and living there were extremely friendly to us. Very authentic people and place! Especially our fantastic guide Mark was one of the best guides we’ve ever had! He just smiled and made us laugh all the time! We will miss the lodge and Mark’s amazing trips at the river! Also good food and Wifi. Big recommendation!
