“A great guest house and excellent host.”

My wife and I know Maldivian culture and language, so being in an island community was very enjoyable. Our host, Mohammed Zubair was attentive, intelligent and a respected leader in the community.

“Very friendly, helpful owner on an excellent, quiet local island with a warm community!”

The hospitality begins immediately after booking. Any specific and general questions can be asked via WhatsApp. You always receive a prompt reply. The very friendly, helpful host Mohamed was happy to assist me with my arrival and I received all the information I needed in detail. This guesthouse is in a very quiet location just a few steps from the sea and offers four simple rooms, a small garden and a lounge area. The rooms are functionally furnished with a very comfortable bed, a small refrigerator and excellent air conditioning. There is also a large refrigerator with a freezer compartment and a washing machine available. And if you need to get some work done, the excellent internet connection is perfect for this too. Breakfast and dinner were served by very friendly staff at a restaurant just a five-minute walk away. The value for money is excellent. In addition to this small restaurant, there is also a café, three small shops for everyday needs and, most recently, an ATM. The host is happy to organise excursions tailored to the individual needs of his guests. Boat trips to secluded sandbanks, snorkelling trips, fishing trips followed by a barbecue. There is a bikini beach. However, I preferred to go into the water at all the other spots to marvel at the house reef while snorkelling (also suitable for kids). A beautiful coral reef can be explored from the beach. Colourful fish, turtles, ... A new hotel is currently being built behind Bikini Beach. Despite this, you can still enjoy privacy and even get a beach chair from the guesthouse. The construction is not silent. But it is much nicer to go into the water at all the other places to see the underwater world. The public beach, for example, is ideal for children. Unfortunately, as is the case everywhere in the world, driftwood and rubbish such as plastic wash up here too. The locals do their best to clean the beaches, but of course some things inevitably remain. I didn't find this disturbing.

“Perfect choice”

The best room in my six trips to the Maldives. The hotel is very modern – lots of outlets and lighting options, the bathroom is a dream! Mohamed, Adam, and their family are wonderful people, they took great care of me. I felt their care from the moment I arrived. The hotel location is perfect – close to beaches for swimming and snorkeling. Breakfasts and dinners at the Sea Breeze restaurant are excellent, with a very varied menu. The best thing is that the hotel is located on the edge of a village, in the jungle – waking up to the chirping of flying foxes and the singing of birds is simply wonderful! The island is absolutely beautiful, I want to come back.

Rather than a luxurious, tourist-heavy resort island, Kihaadhoo is a local island with a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. The islanders are incredibly kind, and everyone greeted me with a welcoming smile. A stroll through the village streets gave me a glimpse into their way of life and culture. ​The hotel room was very satisfying, with a comfortable bed, good air conditioning, a spacious bathroom with plenty of natural light, and fast Wi-Fi. The serene setting, surrounded by large trees and beautiful flowers, was wonderful. Sitting in a chair in the courtyard, I could relax to the sound of birds chirping and a pleasant breeze from the sea. ​Of course, I enjoyed the beautiful underwater world of the reef, filled with pretty fish, including cute clownfish, and sea turtles. ​The owner, Mohamed, was very polite and helped make my stay enjoyable and memorable. The restaurant chef was also kind, cooking the fish I caught and preparing a variety of delicious local dishes. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for place with outstanding Malidivian hospitality. ​The owner's motto, "Arrive as a guest, leave as a friend," truly came to life. I will definitely be returning to this wonderful island where I made so many friends. 

“A perfect relaxing and friendly place and island with stunning under water life.”

Kihaa Holiday Home is a wonderful place on an extraordinary island. Mohamed is a perfect host: The rooms are clean and beautiful, the courtyard in front of the 4 rooms is a warm welcoming place, and together with the common area (open, but covered, with a fan, and a large wooden table) it is simply wow! A perfect snorkeling beach is just a 1-minute-walk away through a palm tree forest, and the stunning bikini beach just a little further. While snorkeling, we saw turtles every single day, and, of course, lots of beautiful fish and corals, including nemos. All people on the island were extremely friendly, and the food (we are great fans of grilled fish and curries, usually served with amazing fresh salads) in the restaurant was nothing but delicious.

“Relaxing, snorkeling, local experiences”

Perfect to spend some relaxing days after scuba diving. I'd recommend to go to neighbour island Dhonfanu first for diving (Fehi Velaa Guesthouse & Divecenter) and afterwards Kihadhoo to relax and snorkle, no diving center in Kihadhoo). The owner Mohamed offers good service, takes care of what you need. Kihadhoo is near (15min by speedboat) to Dharavandhoo with its airport.

Mohammed Zubair, our host, did an excellent job helping us settle in and was very attentive during our stay. Kihaa is like a guesthouse with clean rooms and nice courtyard and kitchen area for guests to use. The thing we liked most was that it was part of a traditional Maldivian community. We had many great discussions with people on the island, and with other guests at Kihaa. Night snorkelling was a highlight for us.

“Nice and quiet island, beautiful reef for snorkeling!”

Had a wonderful stay here at Kihaa! The island is nice and quiet, you really can calm down here and enjoy your time in remoteness. The AC in my room worked well, there are some international power sockets in the accomodation (so you don't need an adapter) and the host Mohamed is really kind :) He even provides snorkeling equipment so you can enjoy the beautiful underwater world at the house reef (which truly is amazing). You should come here!

Truly amazing stay at this hotel! The staff went above and beyond to make my mother feel welcome and comfortable from the moment she arrived. They were always friendly, attentive, and quick to help her with any requests. It’s rare to experience such genuine care and exceptional service, and it truly made her stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place with outstanding hospitality.

Fantastic people on the island! Mohammed took care of us from the second we came until we left: showed us the school where he’s the principal, made us dinner, took us to the local footballpitch to let us play with the local guys, even gave us a free photo shoot! Mohammed made our stay 10/10

“An Authentic Maldivian Experience”

Staying on this local island was an incredible experience that we will cherish forever. Unlike the more touristy islands, Kihadhoo had a more authentic and serene vibe, and the locals were genuinely kind and welcoming. Our host was exceptional in every way. Not only was he the director of the local school, but he also managed the accommodation as a side project with utmost care and dedication. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. For meals, our host arranged dining at a newly opened local café. While the café still has room for improvement in terms of price-to-quality ratio, I’m confident it will grow into a fantastic spot over time. What truly sets this island apart is its breathtaking coral reef and vibrant marine life. Our host also organized unforgettable snorkeling and diving trips with a dive center on a neighboring island. These excursions were simply magical (especially in Hanifaru bay)! However, having a dive center directly on the island (which is planned soon) will make exploring the underwater world even more convenient. This island offers an authentic, peaceful getaway with stunning natural beauty and warm hospitality. We would love to return someday and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique Maldivian experience.

The guest house owner was very pleasant. All requests were handled. I will definitely recommend that Guest house. Note that this is more a hotel, not a guest house as I used to know. It was built specifically for accommodation. Moreover I will recommend that island as well. The people there were very welcoming.

Kihaa Holiday Home offers cozy rooms with most comfy beds, fine interior design, good air-condition, fancy big bathroom with daylight and high-speed wifi! It is a nature paradise with amazing jungle-like forest, tall coconut palms, huge bouquet of flowers and green lush all around. On the snorkelling trip to Hanifaruah Bay we were swimming with hundreds of mantas, and on the way back we were accompanied by dolphins! House reef is also amazing with millions of colorful fish, turtles, nursing- and black tip reef sharks and crystal-clear water. The edge of reef can be reached easily at any time. Snorkelling and watching fabulous living ocean at Kihaadhoo is unbelievable!!! Many thanks to Mr. Zubair to make our holiday perfection.

“Lovely stay at a local island”

My daughter and me stayed at Kihaa Holiday Home and we had an unforgettable time there. The locals welcomed us with open arms and showed us their life. The owners were always helpful and booked our ferry tickets. The place was clean, beautiful and there was free water and coffee. The house reef is directly in front of the guesthouse and absolutley beautiful to snorkel there. We saw turtles, sharks, octopus and lots of corals and fish. Breakfast and dinner at Nooks was really good and we had the chance to try some local dishes as well. Make sure to bring mosquito spray and a swimsuit to respect their culture as there is no bikini beach. Overall a wonderful stay, we would love to come again. :)

“Nice little island with beautiful house reef and very kind owner!”

We had a great stay at Kihaa Holiday Home! It is on a local island and the food was made my women living on the island and was just delicious! The house reef is very close and nice! The owner was very kind and helpful and introduced us to the local people and customs. He also organized local transportation and the contact for seeing mantas for us- which was one of our highlights!

“The best option available if you want to explore Baa Kihaadhoo's outstanding housereef”

The room is spatious, clean and comfortable. There is aircon, good wifi, a fridge, storage space and plenty of lighting fixtures and plugs available. I was travelling alone and the only guest staying there for the most part. Accomodation is 2 mins walk from the most beautiful beach. The owner is also the school principal, and a great conversationist. I really felt welcome and enjoyed my stay here.

Amazing place. Island with a beautiful reef. We felt like at home and the host took care of that. Special thanks to Naathi who helped us in every need😊
