Step Town is my home away from home. All the staff are super friendly, efficient and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. John, the manager, is the best and Emmanuel and Jean Paul are brilliant. You cannot go wrong staying there.

The location , very accessible from the city centre . The very warm and welcoming staff especially Emmanuel . The quietness of the facility and the views from the balcony ! Also , the manager Mr John was awesome ! And the food , wow !

The greatest thing was the super friendly staff, who were super helpful in finding onward transport and giving advice about Kigali. The room was spacious and it was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve tried throughout my travels in east Africa. Overall highly recommended!

“Great stay upon arrival at Kigali Airport”

My friend and I stayed here upon arrival at Kigali airport. We had a comfortable night’s stay, enjoying some food and beer from the onsite restaurant. The outstanding factor was the assistance with transport from the airport and then to the very busy bus station in the morning. As 2 women travellers this could have been daunting, however Patrick made sure we got our tickets and the right bus and even connected us with a friend to help us upon arrival at Musanze. Service we much appreciated on the first day of our travels.

It was a spacious triple room and the staff were absolutely beautiful. The food was yummy and varied. The views were great and overall, I would highly recommend Step Town.

The place is well located on a hill with a nice view. Negative is that it's, though short, on a dirt road. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The room is large, large bathroom as well as a large balcony to watch the sunset.

The staff was wonderfull! We stayed here with a big group of friends and they always tried to cater quickly to our needs. Furthermore, the rooms were spacious and clean.

This is the place to stay in Kigali, the staff, rooms, and food are all amazing.

Step Town Hotel is an excellent place to stay — clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home. Highly recommended for a pleasant stay.

“Very friendly little hotel, good value, with excellent city views”

Step Town is a great little hotel. Not ultra-modern, nor in a high-profile location, but it's very central for getting to all areas and sights of Kigali. The panoramic views across the city hills from its breakfast area and first-floor open balcony space are magnificent. I could have happily sat there for hours. My room was small and basic, but everything worked as it should (good wifi) and it was very quiet at night. Staff at the hotel were friendly and attentive throughout my six nights here. Overall, a happy good-value stay, and it's undoubtedly the first place I'll check if I have the pleasure of visiting Kigali in future.

People working there were very friendly. Breakfast was great and a lot. The rooms were also clean and spacious. The driver told us many interesting facts about the country and Kigali.

The staff were great. Very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. They made us feel very welcome. All the prices were excellent for the room, food and drink. The room was large. The food was great. Nice views and convenient walking distance to the CBD and Genocide Memorial. Plenty of communal space.
