“Wished we could have stayed longer”
Zarya is a lovely, very clean guesthouse on the riverbank in Karakol, which is simply but stylishly appointed. It was a treat spending time on the balcony as the river flowed by. The host was very attentive and spoke excellent English. The breakfast, included in the price, was tasty and a welcome break from the ubiquitous fried eggs and scary sausage that's usually served in this part of the world. A laundry service is available at an extra fee. We really enjoyed our stay here and wished we could have stayed longer.

Fantastic location, directly at the river and only a short walk away from the beautiful park and city centre. Our room was beautifully furnished with very comfortable beds and access to the terrace, overlooking the river. The bathroom has a great shower. Everything was impeccably clean and we felt very comfortable. The very friendly owner prepared a very tasty breakfast for us that we had on the terrace, enjoying the beautiful views. We very much recommend this hotel for Khorogh and would definitely stay here again.

We booked the hotel instead of a guesthouse because we wanted a higher level of comfort. Zayra Hotel met our expectations, the beds were extremely comfortable - not the firm/hard beds we'd been having. The room and bathroom were very clean.

Great location and a really nice terrace over the river. Rooms clean and modern. We didn’t get the double bed we had asked for but this is pretty standard in Tajikistan hotels from what I can tell.

Amazing location, the room was clean and comfortable, good shower, the host was friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English (my Tajik/Russian are non-existent). Can warmly recommend.
