Great location, good food, superb staff

The ladies were very kind and helpful; the staff was very welcoming, the room was cold even without air conditionning, the location of the hotel was perfect (not inside the city all the crowd and noise and not inside the city), the courtyard were we had our breakfast was very pleasant.

The location is perfect, very close to the historic center, the rooms are big and comfortable, and the staff is great!

Perfectly located just a step outside the wall of the old city, near some restaurants and bar. The place is very clean and the staff fantastic! I will come back for sure at Qosha Darvoza in my next trip to Khiva!

“Good hotel with lovely staff”

The rooms are very large and very clean. The courtyard is a lovely place to relax. The hotel is a short walk to the north gate of the old town. The staff are very kind and friendly. The owner kindly allowed us to use the kitchen to prepare and serve our own meals.

We absolutely recommend Mansur's superb guesthouse, ideally situated at the gateway to the old town, magnificently arranged with spacious rooms and a patio that's perfect for getting to know people, especially as Mansur is adorable: thoughtful, generous and helpful, he invited us to meet his family and share a joyful dinner (the Uzbek vodka is delicious and Mansur is an excellent cook moreover!) with his friend Hasan, a French-speaking guide from Samarkand. He picked us up at Ourgench station and organised our visit to the citadels of the desert. On our last evening, we dined at his wife's restaurant in the old town, Bir Gumbaz, which we also recommend for its delicious Uzbek ravioli. We can't understand why this excellent address has disappeared from the brand new Petit Futé.

“A great place to stay just outside the old town”

A lovely hotel in an old, traditional building that has been nicely converted and restored. All the rooms open onto a courtyard where we had breakfast, and could sit and relax. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was individually served, and plentiful. The room was large and well equipped, with a comfortable bed. The room was very quiet, despite being near a busy road. The old town of Khiva is around 5 minutes steady walk from the hotel, so the location was excellent.

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our room and the lovely furnishings. Comfortable (although the beds were a bit hard, normal for UZ). Really nice staff, great breakfast and location. Highly recommended!

The structure is a typical architecture with internal patio and inside the rooms.Good services from the manager (taxi booking for tour and to Bukhara ). Good quality breakfast served in the patio (unpleasant in cold and windy mornings). Kettle and fridge in the room.

Qosha Darvoza is in a great location close to the centre of town. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the room was nicely presented, and I really enjoyed my stay here as a solo traveller.

Five minute walk from the north gate. Super friendly staff. Train station pick up at no extra cost.

The rustical design was a nice touch for our first impression of Khiva. Also, the manager (owner?) named Mansour was exceptionally nice and helpful. Will definitely recommend it to our friends <3

“A great local run hotel 5 minutes walk to the old town gates.”

The Qosha Darvoza is in a great location and only about a 5 minute walk from the gates of the old town. The owner is incredibly helpful, he picked us up from the train station for free, organised tours and drove us to the airport on our way back. Nothing was too much trouble for him. This was our second visit to the hotel and it continued to be a great choice. My mum loved the spacious, warm rooms and the fact that it is an original converted building. If you go to Khavi, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The property was really well maintained, clean and close to city centre. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. We would highly recommend this place to everyone!

Feel at home atmosphere with friendly staff and charming decor. Availability of hot water dispenser made it easy to enjoy tea or instant coffee (not provided). Split AC/heating with remote control in room allowed for personal temperature adjustment. Desk and chair in room was helpful. Short walk to the old walled city. Owner/manager Mahmoud had an excellent restaurant recommendation in the new city and arranged low cost taxi transportation. (No Yandex in Khiva.). Bank and ATM across the street for forex. Advance arrangement for taxi from Urgench airport to hotel was easy and affordable. Guide recommended by hotel was good and provided an informative tour of 5 hours for a fair price.

Excellently located with very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent sized room and a great communal area to relax in. Would thoroughly recommend.
