“A small hotel in a fabulous location”

This is a good hotel in great location. Inside the old walled city of Khiva it is only a short walk to all the sites. The hotel is also close to two of walled city’s gates The staff are friendly. The owner, who always appears to be at the front desk, speaks good English and was very helpful with bookings and other information. I stayed twice here within a 10 day period. Both my rooms were fine. They were spotlessly clean and everything worked. The decor is tired but so what. Strangely, in all my extensive travels in Central Asia this has been the only hotel not to provide free bottled water (in the room). I found this disappointing. The breakfast was also disappointing. Not expecting much but what was provided I thought was disappointing.

The location is great, inside the old city walls and everything is within walking distance. The staff were excellent, the owner in particular was just a pleasure to deal with and helped organise a tour for me but also was just helpful with any queries I had. My room was larger than I expected and comfortable. I loved my stay and I loved Khiva.

We stayed for the short stay till the night, however, the hotel stuff friendly welcomed to us and give full hospitality. Bed, Shower and toilet are neat and clean!!

We loved the location and the communal balcony. The building felt airy and had a lovely atmosphere, and our room overlooked the city wall which felt pretty special! It was really nice to be able to walk around the old city at night as well.

“A lovely guest house in the heart of the Ichan Kala”

Islambek Khiva is a lovely, exceptionally well located guest house right in the old town of Khiva. The staff were super-friendly and happy to help at all times - even checking us in well before the official time as we arrived early off the overnight sleeper train from Tashkent (we were very grateful!) We had a great room overlooking the quiet street at the foot of the old walls, just far enough from the major sights to be away from the tourist bustle, yet only five minutes walk from them and a main gate into the newer town. The fridge in the room was very helpful in 30+ degree heat, and the kettle was also welcome. Breakfasts were great and so was the tour we booked for just the two of us from the travel agency to the Khorezm fortresses - though be aware some of the driving on Uzbek roads can be a little hair-raising (for one used to driving in the UK)!

“A beautiful hotel with a helpful staff”

This is an excellent hotel connected to a local travel agency. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and its location was great. They helped organize a half-day walking tour of the city and I strongly recommend Umida as a guide. The staff was friendly and responsive and helped me with my laundry for a small fee.

We used the hotel as basis for Khiva and for visits to the surrounding area and to the Aral lake (a very long drive but not to be missed, great adventure!). Murad, the owner of Islambek Travel did an excellent job of organizing our tours including our private transfers to Bukhara and Samarkand. Highly recommended!

“Great stay at Khiva”

The stay was great. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The Manager was quite helpful and helped us with trips to the Khorezm Fortress. The location is also inside Itchan Kala.

It is located in the Itchan Qala few minutes walk from all the main attractions in Khiva and with a beautiful terrace with Minarete View. Additionally the owner, Murodbek, provides plenty of daily and multiday trips to the region and Karakalpakstan (we did Aral sea one) and transport to most of Uzbekistan for a reasonable price. Ample room. Breakfast on average for Uzbek starndards.
