Great location, staff and quality of finish

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Small touches were warmly welcomed - for example pomegranate juice on arrival. The hotel also helped to arrange my trip around the desert fortresses which was faultless. The hotel itself is located only a short walk to the Itchon Qala, on a peaceful backstreet. The beds at the hotel are fantastically comfortable. The water refill stations are also a great addition.

We had a fantastic stay. The owner, Tim, and his staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel very welcome throughout. The hotel was spotless and perfectly located in a traditional neighborhood, so it felt authentic and quiet while still being close to everything. The highlight was the rooftop with a beautiful view, perfect for relaxing in the evening. Highly recommend it!

“An incredible stay in Khiva!”

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. It is located outside of Khiva but close to the main western gate of the surrounding wall, making access to the main attractions very quick and straightforward. It was also located in the residential quarter of the city, so it did not feel detached from the life of local people. The room itself was the best we experienced throughout our whole stay in Uzbekistan. It had a large, comfortable bed, was well ventilated and quiet. The shower room also had heated floors, which might sound like a minor thing, but after chilly mornings on the roof terrace spent watching the sun rise over Khiva, this was an amazing feature! Finally, the other reason that you should go to this hotel is the wonderful staff and owners. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, they took care of us. While waiting for the arrival admin to be finished, we were offered tea and snacks, while Timothy, the owner, talked to us about our plans, suggested food places, and unmissable things to do in Khiva. Then throughout our stay, everyone made sure that we were happy and well looked after!

“Great spot for a day or two in Khiva”

Hotel is a short walk from the old town, cute and well decorated. staff was phenomenal - I realized I had forgotten my passport in Bukhara upon check in in Khiva, and they were very helpful and hired a courrier service to bring my passport that same evening. They went above and beyound to help me in this stressful situation. Room was clean and comfortable and so were the beds.z

“Superb boutique hotel”

The service has been exceptional! Tim welcomed us like long lost friends. The hotel sorted out our transfer from the airport and to the train the station at either end of our stay. Both were simple and efficient. The breakfasts were fabulous and different each day. Ottobek (from the hotel) was a fabulous guide bringing the old city of Khiva to life and telling us about life in Uzbekistan today. Nothing was too much for the staff! We had a cooking lesson and most superb meal at the hotel - I highly recommend - lovely tasty hone cooked Uzbek food! The staff are all family or locals who are very proud of their city/country. There is a fabulous view from the rooftop terrace where you can watch the sunrise/sunset. 10/10 on all accounts!! You wont regret booking Hotel Bankir!
