Shivapuri Heights Cottage is a wonderful place to unwind and relax. The views over Kathmandu are breathtaking, the accommodation is great value for money and very comfortable. The staff are all very welcoming and kind, and Neeru the owner is very friendly (as well as the two dogs Max and Cookie.) The meals are also great and very substantial. There are some nice walks to do nearby too. I stayed in the tent in winter and the electric blanket provided made sure I kept warm. The tent is nicely designed and waking up with the view of Kathmandu is 10/10. Definitely recommend to others.

The cottage was very cosy and had electric blankets, a gas heater, tea & coffee making facilities, the hot water in the bathroom worked well, the food was tasty, staff were welcoming, there were vegetable gardens and fruit trees everywhere, 2 friendly dogs and a hot jacuzzi that really hit the spot after a day out walking in the Shivapuri National park

“Beautiful stay, a gem in Nepal”

Our stay at Shivapuri was incredible, we wish we had more than just one day. Everything was beautiful, the whole cottage, the gardens, staff, food, we could go on and on. Steve the owner was attentive and welcomed us, was so accommodating, and helped arrange our massages and hot tub too. The staff were all so lovely, and hands down had the best food and wine in all of Nepal. I would recommend to everyone and anyone.

Excellent location for exploring the national park and local area, beautiful gardens, fresh food from the garden!, super and very friendly staff and owners, exceptional cooking (the best food we have had in Nepal), very comfortable accommodation with everything that you could need, and many exceptional birds, including Nepal’s only endemic species, the Spiny Babbler!

Magical place to stay with incredible surroundings and views. Can walk from the property to various hike trails and the surrounding monasteries and sights. The whole property is lovely, homely and welcoming. The food for breakfast and dinner is delicious. Everything is well thought out and everyone is super helpful and accommodating. The place is made even more special by the wonderful manager, Ramita, who is incredible. Would highly recommend for a place to relax, smile and make excellent memories.

Fantastic property to relax and enjoy the view of Kathmandu. We made use of the massage and hot tub services available. Both were great. Ramit was the star of the property. She helped us with any requests and was so kind and attentive. She made the property great!

I had a delightful stay at Shivapuri Heritage Cottage. The place is serene and uplifting, with every corner exuding peace and joy. The organic food, crafted with love, is delicious! Kudos to Ramita, the cottage manager, and her exceptional team. I was charmed by the thoughtful details - from the curated books and design to Cookie, the adorable dog, and again- the magical surroundings. The breathtaking view, nearby nature trails, and proximity to the national park add to the allure. I stayed in one of the cozy and lovely Jasmine Deluxe rooms with its own private balcony. Indulged in a blissful massage and relaxed in the hot tub also with an epic view. Now back in the bustling city of Lalitpur, Kathmandu, I'm grateful to Shivapuri Heritage Cottage for the rejuvenation. It's a haven nestled in nature, yet so near the city. I can't recommend it enough.

I and my wife were in Nepal for around 8 days where we stayed at 3 different hotels/resorts and Shivapuri Heights Cottage aced it all! This place is sublime. Our cottage had a great view with a balcony overlooking the Kathmandu valley. Also at an altitude of 6000 feet, the place sports a hut tub which I believe you wont find any where else in Nepal. It's a great place to feel close to heaven. Also, a fabulous place to recharge from the daily hustle bustle of the city life. It was also great meeting the owner Steve who got everything right in the details of this place. From books to boardgames to 3 friendly dogs, Shivapuri Heights Cottage has it all. Also, a special mention to Ramita, she is the cottage manager and the cook. The food she makes is absolutely heavenly and delicious.

Shivapuri is a very special unique place, catering to all types of travellers. This is the second time that I am staying at Shivapuri and it feels like home. The owners and staff are beyond accommodating and helpful and kind. Every time I have stayed here I choose the tent option because they are the most cosy, luxury and spacious tents I have ever stayed in and the views of the surrounding hills and Kathmandhu are incredible ! I chose this place because it offers a place to rest away from the intensity of the city but not so far away that you can't get into town easily. It really is set in the most perfect location, you can choose if you want to spend the day in nature or visit the temples in Kathmandu centre. The food is exceptional, all home grown and home made and catered to your every need. I cannot recommend this place more, I will definitely come back here when I return to Nepal, it is perfect for travelling alone or with your loved ones. Thank you Shivapuri for making my stay so happy and welcoming and I look forward to visiting again soon !

Stayed in the deluxe tent and it was lovely- very comfortable! This is a lovely location, fantastic scenery and loved watching the birds from the terrace. The hot tub was a great experience. Staff were lovely and food was delicious. Also really enjoyed my massage. Luxury stay for a very reasonable price.
