I stayed at this hostel both before and after my trek and it’s probably the best place to be if you’re a solo backpacker! The rooms are clean, food at the restaurant delicious and cheap, and the rooftop area is a great place to meet other travelers. Staff always goes far and beyond to help me out (thank you Karan!). Overally 10/10, would totally stay there again

“Would stay again.”
I really enjoyed staying here. The location was in central Thamel. My room was nice and clean. Loads of cool murals on the walls. The rooftop area was funky and had nice views and a bar and restaurant. Food served at the restaurant was delicious. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

“Perfect place for backpackers”
I loved my stay here! The location is perfect (in the heart of Thamel, but the rooms aren’t too noisy), bathroom and rooms were regularly cleaned and there’s a cool terrace where you can meet other travelers. There’s also a restaurant at the terrace where I ate multiple times and everything was tasty and very reasonably priced. The staff both at the restaurant and reception was very kind and helpful (special shoutout to Karan!) and made me feel welcome. If I came back to Kathmandu, I would stay here again.

The sleep in the dorms is very quiet (except for the highest floor, where dorms are adjacent to the restaurant). The beds are comfortable. They have clothing donation box, and there are lots of buddhist/hinduism paintings, which is definitely a "go" for me. Good place. Namaste!

I absolutely loved my stay at Rest Up Hostel. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful—they make everything so easy, from planning your travel to booking buses for Pokhara or anywhere else. You really don’t have to worry about anything. It’s also a great place to meet new people and share travel stories. My favorite spot has to be the rooftop—such a perfect vibe!
