Clean and comfortable bads

Amazing location close to shopping district yet far enough from the main street to avoid noises. Very friendly reception staff (I arrived at 8am after an early flight and they let me check-in earlier than advertised). They have a dedicated booths for guide services and they gave some useful advice on my Annapurna circuit trek

“Home away from home”

I absolutely loved this place! I stayed here for 2 months last winter and it felt great to see everyone again this time. The staff are really kind and hardworking. Alobar has such amazing energy that it felt easy to be there and make friends with others. It’s a social hostel but not too social that it was noisy or anything like that. It is In a really good area of Thamel. The restaurant serves good food at a good price. Plenty of areas to chill. Clean and plenty of bathrooms for the amount of bed there are.

We had a private double room which was fabulous, very spacious and clean. The bathroom was great, the best we found throughout the country. Staff very friendly and helpful too.

The facilities were great, showers were hot and enough cubicles to accomodate the current guests. The seating spaces for each floor were nice for privacy and the main sitting/eating area was spacious and comfy. Rooms were cosy and beds comfy.

“Not recommended for solo females. Female dorm rooms don’t have curtains or blinds! And they’re proud of this!”

The dorm rooms were clean, housekeeping done after checkout, not everyday. The bathrooms were cleaned multiple times a day Hot water was available almost always and it was good Breakfast is actually yummy here Cafe area is super cute and vibey There’s a pool area too (but it’s winter in Nepal so I didn’t enter it!)

I really enjoyed my stay at Alobar1000 Hostel. AJ at the reception was amazingvery friendly, helpful, and welcoming from the moment I arrived. He gave great tips about the city and made check-in smooth. The hostel itself has a nice social vibe, clean rooms, and comfortable common areas where it’s easy to meet other travelers. The location is convenient and overall it felt safe and relaxed.

Staff is amazing at aloobar, especially Kishwor who helps out with trekking, made friends for life here and it felt like home away from home. Food in the restaurant is great!

Good stay at alobar1000. Comfortable room, quiet area, near everything in Thamel

Nice employees, Aj and everyone else was great, room cleanliness and quality was amazing after spending time trekking in the mountains.

“Perfect Budget Hotel in Thamel, Exceptional Staff and Location. Quiet and Secure”

The staff and the location were exceptional. Every staff member was so helpful and always will to go out of there way for us. The location was perfect, with a nice walk to the busy area of Thamel. We booked the private room and because we were on a motorcycle trip we stayed for 2 weeks and then they kindly stored our luggage at no charge while we went away for monsoon season. The food at the restaurant was really good and highly recommend the Chilli chicken momo! The rooms were large and clean with opening windows for some need fresh air. There are a lot of budget hotels in Thamel that look good on paper and are not good when you get there. I would highly recommend to budget travellers.

Alobar was so amazing - a haven for us in Kathmandu and we couldn’t recommend it more! Tashi, Kishor and AJ in particular were awesome and helped us out so much with recommendations, trip bookings etc. We stayed here as a group of friends and highly recommend.
