The host and family was amazing and very hospitable! ❤️ We will definitely come back when we are in the area and would recommend to any tourist coming through to Kataragama 🥳 We were talking about how big the jackfruit was and they cut it open in front of us and offered us some ❤️

“A budget friendly stay near the Yala national park”

The hosts were incredibly welcoming, making us feel right at home. This lovely property sits near a serene lake, just 2-3 km from the bus station. They arranged a fantastic full-day jeep safari for us with meal option. We did spot two leopards during our safari.

The host family were friendly and helpful especially with providing breakfast and delicious picnic lunch for the Safari which they also provided. The Safari driver was excellent with finding the animals to view. Lake Front Yala is a good location close to Kataragama town to visit the Temple and the Wild Edge Restaurant next door also very good.

Lovely hosts who made the stay feel like home

We enjoyed our stay here. Rooms are clean, new, bed was very comfortable and bathroom spacious and clean. The hotel is 5/10 min walking from the sanctuaries. The family took care of us in every detail, we went on a safary with them and we recommended it!! We manage to see a mama leopard with three calves, elefant and enjoyed the calm of the park. They also organised the taxi for our next stop. We definitely recommend the place!!!

Our stay was amazing from start to end. Welcoming and friendly family, clean and comfortable room, and very delicious food. We had an amazing full day safari with the owner who was great at spotting all the animals!

“Great place to stay if you are just doing a safari.”

Lovely clean spacious rooms, lovely hosts, they organised our safari. Nice outside verandah to have breakfast. Close to Tamarind Lake hotel where you can get a day pass to use the pool and get good, well priced lunch.

A beautiful stay at Lake View! The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for nature lovers. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the entire place was clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming—highly recommend

“Mixed experience”

The room was very clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, and toiletries were provided upon request. Breakfast was good, and the lady of the house was very friendly—she even offered us fresh guavas, which was a nice touch.

“Amazing for Yala”

Amazing stay for doing Yala safari. They organised private tours for us and were so helpful throughout our stay. Room was spacious and good shower. Would recommend to anyone!

We received a warm welcome. The room was neat and clean. The owners are very friendly and offer tips on things to do in the area. We hope this family gets many more bookings because they deserve it!

We loved staying here. It was a great choice for our Yala safari. The owners were really warm & welcoming and made us very much at home during our stay. The room was great, with a very comfortable bed and good linens. The bathroom was well equipt with a bud shower and plenty of hot water. We had breakfast & evening meal here. The food was freshly cooked and delicious and plentiful. We booked our safari with the owner and he doubled as our guide. Reasonably priced. We saw 7 leopards on the day, which was a record. On the way back the owner treated us to egg hoppers to celebrate the record sighting. We loved every minute of the day. I have no hesitation in recommending the honestly to others

“Fantastic one night stay”

The owners are lovely and very accommodating. The room was spotless and the bed very comfy, I would advise ear plugs as it’s near the road, we always take earplugs wherever we go. Would highly recommend this property.

This is the place to live ♥️ The sweetest, most genuine family - welcoming and heartwarm. They arranged for a wonderful safari for us, offered the possibility of adding meals (SO tasty and delicious) and went up and above to help with practicalities and make us feel at home 🙏🏻
