“Horrible”

I recently stayed at Chenara Hotel in Kataragama, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The rooms did not match the photos shown online at all—they seem misleading and do not reflect the actual condition. The bathrooms were in very poor condition and not properly maintained. The outdoor area was also not pleasant and looked neglected. On top of that, when we checked out, the payment process was unprofessional and unclear, which made things even more frustrating. Overall, the stay did not meet expectations, and I would not recommend this place based on my experience.

“Just disaster”

I was trying to reach out to hotel whole week before my staying, I was moving my dates and was not getting confirmation, was texting them in app and there was no reply, was calling them and number is always off. I texted to technical service of booking.com and also no reply And guess what happened when we reached the place? They were booked. At night I needed to look for other place and due to Mahashivaratri everything was booked around and there was no place to stay in whole town. I booked this place a week earlier because I understand how mad can be night of Mahashivaratri. Till 11 pm we were trying to find place to stay and found only small room with sad conditions for crazy money No refund and no help was offered. Just “sorry, we are full”. No one offered even water or cared for anything. They didn’t have WiFi and signal is bed there to try to find any other place. We were two ladies going out at night to nowhere scared and tired from long travel

You should remove this (hotel chenra) hotel from your website. That accommodation is just a lie. The toilets are not cleaned. They smell. There is no water in the toilets. The toilets and rooms are full of mosquitoes. The rooms have been not cleaned. The beds are not clean at all. If you can, please refund the money I paid. We kindly request you to remove these ugly, smelly, and dirty places from your website

They didn't make us wait. Event though we arrived pretty early they arranged a room as per our preference. the staff is very attentive to needs. they checked if we need any meals every time.

Was a good a good location walking distance to everything. Swimming pool. Lots of wildlife. Though cockroach crawling on my bed.. Ahhh.. Staff nice though vertually no English..
