“Terrible felt like white collar crime”
I’d dial this back a bit—not because your frustration isn’t valid, but because reviews that sound like threats or emotional venting are more likely to get removed or ignored on The property listing stated it was 4.1 km from Kataragama town, but in reality it was over 7 km away and difficult to locate. Upon arrival, the accommodation did not match the photos at all and appeared poorly maintained. We were not comfortable staying there. We initially could not reach the property by phone. After about 30 minutes, we managed to get through, but the response was unhelpful and unprofessional. As a result, we decided not to stay and requested a refund, which was not granted. This was a disappointing experience and resulted in a financial loss of 188 AUD. I would advise future guests to verify the location and current condition of the property before booking. * Specific facts → distance, condition, communication delay * No insults or threats → avoids removal * Clear outcome → you didn’t stay + lost money * Helpful to others → warns future

The resort's garden and ambiance were very impressive; you feel very cozy in such a huge garden. You have the chance to watch many wild animals while swimming in the pool, it's really enjoyable. Also, Anton and Winnie are amazing people, very helpful and friendly. I'm so happy to have met them.

“Your Go To place for all your needs”
I arrived later than I had expected to Funky lodge. Upon arrival, the staff were there, took my luggage to our room and had lunch ready for us on our safari for the next day. What an amazing experience we had ❤️

The staff were very welcoming on our arrival and throughout the stay they were extremely attentive and available whenever we needed them. In particular, Anton was spot on - he was fantastic and made great efforts to ensure we were comfortable and understood everything. He is a real asset to Funky Leopard!

Enjoyed dipping in the pool surrounded by nature. Staff was helpful and friendly. Had a good time in the safari even though we did not see any leopards.

“Perfect for your adventures into Yala National Park”
This was perfect for Yala National Park. The safari and naturalist arranged by the hotel were really great and knowledgeable. It was lovely to have a pool and watch monkeys whilst eating a delicious breakfast. The staff were attentive and really welcoming.

“Staff tries but the facilities are a letdown”
The staff is great and the try their best to make you feel at home. The location is nice because you're surrounded by nature and the dinner was quite nice.

“Great place with lovely staff”
Amacing and quite place to stay. They have only few rooms and it very relaxing. But the best are the staff members. They do everything to make you feel comfortable. We did a free night walk with them and saw some interesting animals.
