We had a lovely stay at Hunwa Guesthouse Kata! It was truly great value for money – the room was spacious and had all the amenities we needed. The location is perfect, right in the center of Kata and just a short 5–7 minute walk to the beach. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, being offered towels, beach towels, bathrobes, slippers, and two bottles of water every day. The only minor thing we would mention is the mattress – it was a bit firm for our taste. Of course, this could just be a personal preference, and others might find it perfectly comfortable. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here and we highly recommended for anyone looking to stay in Kata on a budget.

I liked everything about the place, location, room, staff etc. Everything is near the place stores, 7-11, pharmacies, exchanges.

Very very very clean. Can’t hear noise from the street. The place has 3 towels per person plus there were shampoo, and soap in surplus. Also they give robe and slippers!

“Wonderful place and amazing people”

Firstly would’ve given a 5 star review anyway - rooms are clean, comfy beds, good location and fair pricing competitively to the area. Aircon works well, good showers, nice toilets and well equipped rooms. Check in was a breeze and we were allowed an extra hour for checkout too as we thought it was 12:00. But! Here is the best (worst for me) part. I very stupidly left 6000bht hidden in the room, and only realised on the ferry to Koh Lanta. I spoke to the owner and she recovered the money with the help of the hotel staff. She then liaised with the hotel staff in Koh Lanta and wire transferred the money to them, and I got it back. I requested she keep some and didn’t. Honestly blown away by this kindness and honesty all round from staff and owner alike. Can’t recommend enough. Infinite thanks and gratitude!

Location was good. Walking distance to Kata beach by foot was 5 min, 7-11 nearby as well as Kata walking street which was 1 minute away. It was very clean, cleaning ladies were friendly and hardworking, they were cleaning everyday thoroughly and clean towels, fresh water and toilet paper were provided everyday. Bed was big and comfortable. Bathroom was nice and clean, water pressure and temperature were good.
