“Stay in a 19th century barracks in an old fort,with all the upsides and downsides that come with it”
This is an old 19th century barracks from when the fortress was in active use. As such it's a pretty interesting look into what a building like that is like, highly uneven floors and all. The old fortress is on an absolutely gorgeous peninsula into lake Vättern; I could see the lake's inlet from my window. The area has a bunch of spots of historical interest. The window actually consists of two separate windows behind one another so I could open the inner one to help the heat leave a bit without letting in mosquitoes.

Beautiful, old style house with great, so nice staff. The breakfast was great, everything was well prepared. We arived during snowstorm late at night, it was not a problem, our room and keys were prepared and the surroundings were so beautiful. The receptionist lady was very nice and helpful. Definatelyy we will visit this hotel again for holidays.

“Great B&B in historic Karlsborg”
Excellent location close to Karlsborg Fästning and Lake Vättern. We had a private room with an ensuite bathroom, great beds, and all we needed. Fine breakfast in the morning.

“Felt really good to stop here”
We’ve been on a road trip and stopped to look around in Karlsborg. Wasn’t feeling well and really needed to rest. The room felt so comfortable and welcoming. Felt better soon and took lovely long walks in the beautiful environment.
