“perfect, quiet place to come back to after your day”

it was modest but had everything i needed. the staff were there when needed, but also very helpful when asked. it was appreciated. breakfast was delicious. my room had a little balcony overlooking the river, very idyllic. and close to the beach.

The breakfast and view of the Karatsu Castle were excellent. The staff were helpful and flexible, accommodating requests to change room and dietary requirements. Special effort were made in the presentation of breakfast. There is a bus stop just outside the door.

We got an upgrade to the corner family room with terrace on the river and full view of the Castle. That room is very large and fully equipped. The breakfast was excellent with a fish dish. It is located near the Castle, and the beach is not far.

Nice view of the river. Japanese style rooms are big but the western style twin rooms are small, can't find space to open the luggage. The common area facing the river is warm and cosy with free coffee and tea. Staff is friendly and helpful. The welcome drinks is a bonus.

“Very good ryokan in attractive location.”

Very good ryokan in attractive location overlooking river and then Karatsu. Local bus stop outside provided easy option to bus and train station. Very good support by friendly and knowledgeable Maeda and other staff. Having e-bikes with helmets available to hire was another valuable feature of what proved to be a lovely introduction to Kyushu. Suggest taking advantage of being near Sakamoto for dinner, but most importantly recommend booking the option of breakfasts which were fabulous

“A cosy step away from the road along the river”

The view from the bedroom on the river was beautiful. It was very quiet since the bedroom are oriented towards the river. The traditional japanese bath was very much appreciated after a cold rainy day. We liked the tasty breakfast which definitely helped us get through the busy day.

Very convenient, washer n dryer, easy to find, free parking opposite the hotel. Superb view.

The atmosphere is great, right by the river. The staff are very attentive. There's parking available. It's clean, and bicycles are available for rent.

The host is very friendly and hospitable, and is willing to fix all the problems we faced. The room is spacious and very clean, and there is barely no noise from the neighboring rooms. The public bath can be booked for an hours per room. The washing machine and dryer are for free (while detergent needs to pay or prepared by oneself)

A quiet place but very easy to reach the center! The breakfast was delicious and the personal is fantastic! I can only recommend this hotel to stay! They arrange me a taxi to make a day trip to see hourra and other sites like Hadomisaki beach and Hato cape to see the sunset! Perfect! Sublime!!

“Quiet spot by the river”

We stayed in a spacious suite with a riverside balcony. Lovely bath tub and shower and facilities for a whole family. Riverside and castle views from wide picture windows. Modern and spotless. Choice of hot drinks, spacious fridge and a free welcome drink. Right by a bustop into town and opposite a quirky cafe. Convenient parking too.

Beautiful location with STUNNING views. Lovely tatami mat room, very spacious. We didn't use it but there is a cedar wood bath available for guests to use.
