Kanil was a fantastic host! He was informative and made great recommendations. Definitely get the breakfast, it was filling and a lovely way to experience local dishes. The pictures on the website does not do it justice, sitting on the balcony having a coffee with the view was a highlight for us.

Had an absolutely delightful stay at the Tranquil Quarter. Outstanding accommodation with everything you need to relax and settle into Kandy life, including a home cooked breakfast, kitchen facilities and laundry. Kanil and his family were very kind and hospitable, giving us local recommendations and making sure we felt at home. I particularly loved being close to the Udawatta Kele Sanctuary which was perfect for a morning walk and lizard spotting! 10/10 recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful and welcoming stay in Kandy. Best accommodation we have stayed at in Sri Lanka- thank you!

The best accommodation in Sri Lanka! Don't look for something else. This is what you want! Believe me. :) Kanil is a superhost and the apartment is soo comfortable, there is completely everything you need.

Will not hesitate to book again and wish we had stayed longer! This was the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka and we miss it already. It was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully furnished, you'd find everything you would need for a cosy and comfortable stay. What also really stood out was Kanil and his family, who are just the most hospitable hosts who made us feel even more at ease. Their home made breakfast was also very hearty and delicious!

I cannot speak highly enough about both the facility and the manager. The apartment is very well appointed, clean, comfortable, classy, and beautiful. We booked an extra night as soon as we could just to extend our time there. The manager, Kanil* is an absolute gem as is his family. “Superb stay in the middle of Sri Lanka!”

If I could rate this 1000/10 I would! Kanil was an exceptional host who goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great time. He also takes additional steps to make sure that you arrive safe. It’s a very peaceful hideout and perfect if you want to live in a more secluded area. Facilities are all clean and in top condition.

We liked about everything in this stay..The host Mr.Kanil offered a pickup from bus station and dropped too. The property is located in a very scenic place, Comfortable living and bedroom, cozy kitchen and a cool balcony with a great view. Rooms are super clean, spic and span the decor is tastefully done. Well placed indoor plants adds a charm to the room. We have cooked our dinner. The host has kept variety of authentic Tea for tasting. There is a washing machine and cloths stand too. An unforgettable stay with a great host. We are sure to stay here in all our trips to Kandy hereafter.

It was a wonderful two days. The room was both large and very comfortable, and the room was in a very quiet place. The view is so beautiful. I'm not an early riser, but I wanted to get up early and enjoy the view. Everything is more beautiful than the photos. Kanil and his family treated us like new family members. They tried to complete every shortcoming of ours. We were very grateful. We will undoubtedly stay here next time we come. Thank you very much again.

Lovely host and amazing view in a very comfortable room! Kanil and his family were super friendly and helpful. They‘ve picked us up in the city and brought us there again when we left. Kanil even helped us to get into the correct public bus. We highly recommend getting the optional breakfast, as it is homemade and really good! The room is very cozy and clean. It was an overall amazing experience and we‘d definitely stay here again!

“My best accommodation in Sri Lanka”

It was my best accommodation in Sri Lanka. The flat is amazing and felt like home from the very first second. It has everything you need plus a small balcony with an incredible nature view. By far it was the cleanest place I’ve visited in Sri Lanka. Everything was perfectly organised by Kanil. He is very honest and helped me with everything during my stay. His mother cooks delicious food and has the loveliest smile. Their hospitality was outstanding and I would always come back to Kandy even just for staying there.

“10 stars for a reason!!!”

Me and my husband stayed here for 2 nights whilst backpacking through Sri Lanka. They usually have people stay on a long term basis so we were lucky it was available when we were in Kandy. Firstly, the host Kanil is incredible. He is so kind, friendly and attentive! Him and his mum left us edible goodies constantly throughout our stay (lots of Sri Lankan foods we hadn’t tried yet) and collected us from the train station on arrival and dropped us to the bus stop on departure - all for free! Kanil had some fantastic recommendations for where to eat (if you like street food you MUST go to Waul Kade) and he was always more than happy to assist us with any of our questions. We had 1 breakfast whilst we were there and it was delicious and very filling! The place itself consists of a kitchen, dining room, bedroom, bathroom and balcony - which was all for us! There was a washing machine we were allowed to use for no extra cost and we hung the laundry on a clothes horse on the balcony to dry. Done in a day! There was tea and coffee we could help ourselves to and a fridge we could put food and drinks in. The bathroom was AMAZING and the shower was nice and hot and good power (you just have to let it run for 2mins first then it’s perfect). There was a hairdryer and complimentary shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/soap. The bedroom was huge and also had a sofa and TV (although we didn’t use this). This place is 10 stars on booking.com and for a very good reason - Kanil and his family have work incredibly hard to ensure you have the perfect stay! We are so happy we booked here!!!! Thank you again for such a wonderful few days.

Modern and clean appartment with a very nice view. There is a possibility to use private kitchen and even the washing machine. Delicious and generous breakfast in forms of local dishes. The hosts are super attentive and friendly. They also helped us with the train tickets booking. Every day there was some bonus surprice waiting for us. It was a pleasant stay. Thank you Kanil.
