Very tastefully decorated and beautiful floor plan but the. Ire is probably still the best feature. 🫶 Nice amenities, universal electrical outlets, the host really put loads of thought into the comfort and convenience of the guests! It looks like you’re far out of the city, but it’s actually quite close. Good bus connection to the city center.

“Peaceful retreat in Kandy with a Beautiful View”

We had a fantastic stay at The Traveller Kandy! The host was lovely, super friendly, and really easy to talk to – made us feel very welcome right away. The view from our room was absolutely incredible – we spent so much time just sitting on the balcony watching life go by in the valley below. It was the perfect peaceful escape. We’re really glad we chose a spot just a little out of town; it’s only a short PickMe ride into central Kandy, but far enough to avoid the busyness and crowds in the city center. We chatted with other travelers who regretted staying right in town and wished they’d picked somewhere quieter like this. The property has beautiful design and a calm, relaxing vibe overall. We stayed for 2 nights, which felt like more than enough for a quick visit to Kandy (especially if you’re doing a short trip and hitting the main sights). Highly recommend this place for anyone wanting stunning views, a friendly host, and a serene retreat away from the hustle!

I can only give my best recommendations for The Traveller. I loved the room, the vibe, the view and the facilities. Located in the skirts of Kandy, it is easy to get around with tuktuk, motorbike or car. Harshana is a wonderful host and made my stay unforgettable. I am happy to have found my Sri Lankan brother :) This has been my favourite place to stay in Sri Lanka.

Beautiful house and room a little outside the city center. Harshana paid attention to every detail designing this house. The views with river, the church and nature is super nice. The private cook is a nice local lady cooking amazing local dishes adjusted to your likes and dislikes for very little money. In the evening the house is very quiet. Great value for money. At last but least is Harshana a very open minded, helpful and talkative host.

The place was really comfortable and clean. The host - Harshana is a very nice and helpful guy. He made us feel like home. Highly recommended

“A peaceful oasis in the mountains.”

I spent over a week at The Traveller Kandy to work on a book manuscript, and it was the perfect quiet retreat for that. Amazing views of the Mahaweli River and the Knuckles Mountains from the room and the terrace, warm hospitality by host Harshana and a fantastic breakfast cooked by a neighbour. Despite the feeling of seclusion supermarkets, cafes and restaurants are just a 10-15 minute walk away.

Our favorite hidden spot in Kandy with an ammmmazing view and the hosts are very kind and helpful. We have stayed here twice and both times were well taken care of.

I fell in love with this place! The spacious room and common areas are very clean. The balcony offers a breathtaking view. There’s a small kitchenette where you can boil water, use the dishes, and store food in the fridge. Within walking distance, you’ll find a vegetable shop and stores with all the essentials. Simple yet delicious Sri Lankan food is available nearby. The room doesn’t feel hot, so there’s no need for air conditioning. I didn’t even use the fan. It’s a perfect place to relax and recharge after exploring the mountains and local sights. Getting to the center of Kandy is easy: take a tuk-tuk or hop on a local bus, which runs frequently. The host is an incredibly kind, hospitable, and responsive person, always ready to assist with anything you need. You can tell he truly loves what he does. He also has a wonderful dog, which makes the place feel even more welcoming. A pleasant surprise for me was that they sort waste here, which is rare to see. For just $13 a night, you won’t find a better place to stay in Kandy!

Absolutely everything! Host, Harshana is extremely helpful and great to talk to, fluent with english. The room is amazing: spacious, comfortable, 1000% spotless clean, and the views outside Your window just… wow! Hidden gem! (The food is great too!) (The dog is lovely as well!)

My sister and I had an amazing stay here! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The room was just as shown in the pictures—clean, spacious, and with a spotless, well-maintained bathroom. Everything we needed was there. The host/owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready to help. Such a caring soul! One of our favourite parts was the view—waking up to the magical lake view every morning was unforgettable. Since the property is slightly outside Kandy town, it was peaceful and quiet, perfect for a relaxing stay. We absolutely loved our time here and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kandy!

I travelled alone and stayed for 5 nights and would definitely come back!! Was made to feel so welcome. Harshana was a fantastic host, very chilled but also very on it with any questions info :-) Stunning design, interiors - like something out of Elle Decoration magazine but with sweet humility and without the ridiculous price tag. Fantastic views from my balcony and a communal area. I loved the homely and super calm feel. I had a really spacious room. The food was delicious. It's about 15-20 mins out of Kandy so much less touristy which I loved. Easy to get into Kandy non-stop buses and tuk-tuk and the Pick-me app was great. Lassie the dog was the icing on the cake!

The most beautiful place i've stayed in so far! Harshana is very cool and open and as a solo Traveler it is very Nice to have his company! He works very hard and it shows. The place is super clean. I would recommend getting food in the house itself because it was so delicious. Plus: you get to have dinner with a view that looks like a painting!

The loveliest and friendliest host ever! Made us feel welcome from the first second onwards. Beautiful house with amazing views! A bit outside of town, which was nice to escape the noise. Still only a 15min tuktuk ride. Clean and modern rooms. And the cutest dog ever!!

We had a lovely room which was clean on arrival, very spacious, and had an amazing view of the river and greenery of Kandy. The host was very helpful and we had breakfast and evening meals here which were so good and a very reasonable price for massive portions! In terms of value for money I doubt you will beat this place. We enjoyed sitting outside the room on the terrace in the evening watching the sun go down and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Very nice view from room and terrace. The breakfast is great. The accommodation is a few kilometer from the center of Kandy. It’s very quiet. We slept very well.
