“A really pleasant place”

I like this place! It's a family business, so we always got an attitude from the owner. He was very helpful with every question. Also, I like that we could order a meal for dinner while in the room, not waiting in the dining room. Very good location, we spent not too much time getting to the place from the center, using a tuk-tuk. And the guesthouse is a home for cute cats!

The room had all amenities from fridge over showergel, nice warm water, excellent breakfast and excellent location close by the lake.

Best shower in Sri Lanka, ideally situated to wander into town, but away from the main hustle and bustle. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good. Good value for money. We only spent 1 night, but you could use this as a location to explore the surrounding area. Free tea and coffee

“Outer city hotel could do better”

The Settle Inn is a city hotel slightly off the main bustle. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a room safe, aircon, included breakfast and plenty of power plugs. Within walking distance of The Temple Of The Tooth or 5-10 minute tuk tuk to the city.

Settle In Tourist Lodge absolutely exceeded my expectations. The room was spotless, spacious, and incredibly comfortable — the perfect place to unwind. The breakfast was filling, delicious, and prepared with so much care, easily one of the best I’ve had during my travels. What stood out the most was the warm hospitality. The staff were extremely kind and even allowed me to check in super early since my room was ready — a gesture that made my long journey so much easier. If you’re looking for a place that feels welcoming, clean, and truly guest-focused, Settle In Tourist Lodge is the one. I couldn’t recommend it more!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. There was always hot water available, and everything worked perfectly. What impressed me most was the staff everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I truly felt well taken care of and would be happy to return anytime. Highly recommended!
