Our room was big and light and had a lovely river view. We booked it because it was a bit out of town and in nature (bird watching, even a big snake in the garden!)

Great location by the river with lovely gardens full of different fruit trees - saw lots of birds including kingfishers and sea eagles as well as turtles and lizards. The rooms were clean and spacious. The Sri Lankan family that own the hotel are very friendly and accommodating.

Great staff, location near the river. Lot of spice trees in the gardens. Plenty of birds.

It’s a small hotel & entrance to the hotel is bit deceptive and doesn’t give full picture, once u are in the room the view and backyard is beautiful. River view, calm and serene environment, bird song in morning are just great. Food is all prepared by host and is of excellent quality, customised food out of menu was also accommodated. We enjoyed karaoke by the host and their friends in evening. Jerome is simply outstanding in handling all our request and special thanks to the host for making our stay enjoyable.

This is a hidden gem. You must stay here. The staff were amazing. Jerome looked after us so well. The view from our balcony was incredible, so much wildlife and beauty. It was so quiet and peaceful. A beautiful place to stay. The breakfast and evening meal was delicious.

The place was tranquil and peaceful. The staff, Jerome, Sumudu and Raja were very kind and helpful. It was a very nice setting to begin our family holiday.

I had a truly wonderful experience at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Mr. Jerome, Mr Raja, and Mr Sumudu were truly amazing. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay.

We had stayed at this place back in 2019 and came back in 2025. This hotel located not far from Kandy city center but very close to nature on the river shore. We love the location as you can easily go to Kandy whenever you want but you can enjoy the river view, watch birds and animals from your room or from the restaurant. We also enjoyed our breakfasts there. Wery well prepared omelets, fruit, juice, toasts with butter and jam, pancakes. Once had dinner there. Devilled prawns were really good. The owners were very nice and welcoming. I must mention the lady owner’s driving skills which are exceptional as we were delivered at the train station very fast and right on time. She saved our trip to Colombo, and we are so very much grateful to her.

Much bird life at the back of hotel Breakfast was very good. Manager was helpful.

The accommodation was beautiful, our room and bathroom were of a good size and we had a wonderful outlook from our room onto the river. The couple that ran the property seemed very pleasant.

Pleasant reception, very sympathetic and helpful management; exceptionally good and professional kitchen; quiet and comfortable hotel located just outside, but conveniently close to, the Kandy city centre.

Secluded quiet and relaxing place Overlooking the river, just a few minutes from the city but a world away.

The location is excellent. The balcony overlooks the river and the view is unimpeded. The greenery is lush and the area full of birds. The staff member Mr Janak was kind and looked after my husband and I who fell ill with a virus. He cooked us nutritious soup and whatever we asked for.
