“Absolutely perfect!”

This is a perfect place to stay for people who want to enjoy the city but still have some quiet time close to nature and away from the crowds. The room was clean and spacious, with a big balcony and plenty of privacy. I loved the atmosphere and immediately felt at home. The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful :) I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Kandy!

The bed has a mosquito net. The staffs are so good!

Very comfy and cozy private room, ideal for my trek to the Knuckles. Good bed with mosquito net. Hot water in the shower. Hosts were great and very welcoming and answered all my questions

The host was really friendly and they offer you tours. They also give you a cup of tea in the morning. The view is great as well! The bed is comfortable and the shower has hot water :)

I loved everything, gorgeous view from my balcony, even from my bed with the window open! Good quality clean linens and pillows, very clean spacious room. The owner was so kind and friendly and not pushy. Easy to find, just a few steep steps to arrive!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect, the place is simple but very nice and well kept, and the price is very reasonable. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It felt like home. Would stay again!

I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s basic but perfect, located about a 20 minute walk from town so away from all the noise with a lovely view. Hiran was an excellent host and really knowledgeable on what to do, how to get around etc. He arranged a day trip to the knuckles mountains for us. It’s also a great starting point for Pekoe trail, about a 1 hour walk to the Ceylon tea factory. I did stage 1 and got the bus back. Really good bang for buck and I’d definitely recommend staying here!

I stayed there for 2 nights There was no water in kandy but the host arranged for basic needs. The home stay is on top you have to climb 92 stairs one way every time if you want to reach the property or vice-versa if you love hiking then you will like it and the view was good you have to do as i did I was leaving the property in the morning then I was coming back at night after all Sightseeing. I also had a guest (See photos)in my mosquito net but he didn't disturbed me.

HS is a nice place to recharge in Kandy. It's silent and clean. The host was really welcoming. The room has 4 beds and a common bathroom. You can also meet interesting backpackers here.

Let me start by saying I lived in Sri Lanka for 4 years, I've travelled every corner of this beautiful country. I'm currently back on a visit for Xmas and new year. To catch up with friends. Kandy is my favourite go-to place in Sri Lanka. HS HOMESTAY is just that. It feels like you are staying with a family but with a hostel vibe. Anything you need they will organise for you. The family lives in the adjacent house so you have two outdoor terraces to choose from with your own privacy so you are not living WITH the family per set, but you will see them around. The two children are so cute friendly and full of energy. And they speak English! The owner HIRAN is SUPER FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. The LOCATION is perfect for me. As mentioned I've been to kandy dozens of times and stayed all over the city. As its my first time back for two years I noticed the places I've stayed before had put their prices up so I was looking for something more budget. I found HS HOMESTAY online and thought I would book to see if it really checked out for such a low price, I was sceptical, because it was such a good deal. But sure enough the price is as stated, I reserved online without C. Card, and once processed the owner actually contacted me with a message, so I added his number and we were in contact via WhatsApp. I was coming from airport to kandy, travelling most of the day so I sent him my live location on the bus so he knew when to expect me. (I bought a local SIM at airport on arrival). My intention was to get off the bus in the city and walk back to the accommodation, but as the bus was approaching from the Colombo route I noticed it passed by very close to the homestay so i asked the driver and jumped off on the aim road just below the accommodation. This saved going into the city centre and walking back. Good tip of coming by bus. From the main road it's 10 minute walk up the hill, I only had one trolley bag so it was OK. It's a road not a track.
